Happy Mother’s Day — to every kind of mother, and every kind of experience with motherhood.
Today isn’t simple. It’s beautiful, joyful, painful, and complicated.
We celebrate moms who show up with courage and love, day after day — whether they gave birth, adopted, fostered, or stepped into the role through sheer heart.
We hold space for those who wanted to be moms and couldn't. For the ones grieving the loss of their mothers or children. For mothers who had to make impossible choices. For those estranged from their moms. For trans moms, q***r moms, chosen moms, and single moms doing it all. For ancestors who mothered entire communities. For those who mother without the title — teachers, aunties, friends, caregivers.
Mother’s Day is more than flowers and brunch. It’s a time to honor the labor, the legacy, and the lives of those who mother — in all the ways that word can mean.
To all the mothers — and all who are holding complicated emotions today — you are seen, you are loved, and you matter.

Hoy no es un día simple. Es hermoso, alegre, doloroso y complejo.
Celebramos a las madres que están presentes con valentía y amor, día tras día — ya sea que hayan dado a luz, adoptado, acogido, o asumido el rol de madre por puro corazón.
También hacemos espacio para quienes quisieron ser madres y no pudieron. Para quienes están de duelo por la pérdida de su madre o de un hijo/a. Para las madres que tuvieron que tomar decisiones imposibles. Para quienes están distanciades de sus madres. Para las madres trans, las madres q***r, las madres elegidas y las madres solteras que lo hacen todo. Para las ancestras que criaron comunidades enteras. Para quienes maternan sin el título — maestras, tías, amigas, cuidadoras.
El Día de la Madre es más que flores y desayunos. Es un momento para honrar el trabajo, el legado y la vida de quienes maternan — en todos los sentidos que esa palabra
