Getting ready for the Highway 341 Band concert tomorrow. We are serving lasagna for the last time tomorrow to be replaced with bratwurst with sauerkraut. I made a larger batch of Sloppy Joe's since we have run out the last two weeks. The recipe came from my Grandmother Ruby and was passed down by my mother to her sons. Instead of ambrosia this week, I am making an apple salad which is a recipe my mother got from our dear family friend Esteleen McDonald.

Happy Bicentennial to Hillsboro! Jesse Kester prepared the original plat to Hillsboro in 1826. The plat was acknowledged before a Justice of the Peace exactly 200 years ago on August 25, 1826. The box office and shop for our theater are in parts of Lot 30 in that original plat. The theater itself is on Lot 50 which was not platted until 1829. Hillsboro did not become an incorporated town until 1897.

We have updated the website for The Harmony Theater. In the prior website for Myers Dinner Theatre, there was a list of main-stage productions going back to 2010. By researching newspaper articles and advertisements, we have been able to take the list back to when the theater opened in Hillsboro in 2002. We updated our marquee today to highlight some upcoming events. The Highway 341 Band will be back the next two Saturdays with food service at 4 p.m. and the concert at 6 p.m. We love making our space available for special events. We hosted the Fountain Central Class of 2016's 10th reunion earlier this month. On September 6, local resident Gene Groce will be honored for turning 100 that month.
Finally (and perhaps most important of all), we will resume putting on shows in October. The 39 Steps (which was a spy novel then an Alfred Hitchcock movie) will be presented. It's still a spy thriller, but has romance and comedy thrown in. We will finish the year with Million Dollar Quartet Christmas. We are also trying to figure out how to keep our little theater going in 2027 and met with the directors of another theater in the area this past week to get their ideas. We appreciate your support.

We are pleased to announce that Jack Fishback will be performing at our theater on Friday, August 21 at 7 p.m. No meal will be served, but snacks and pop will be available. There is no cover charge, but a collection will be made to support Jack.
