AUDITIONS: TWELFTH NIGHT

SSCC Theatre is holding auditions for our fall production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night — and we want YOU there, whether you're a regular Company member or it's been a few seasons since your last show with us!

Auditions: Wednesday, September 2 & Thursday, September 3, 6:30–9:30 PM (The link to the online signup sheet will be posted soon.)

Location: Edward K. Daniels Auditorium, Room 407, Central Campus

Performances: November 13–15, 2026

Open to ALL SSCC students, staff, faculty, and community members — no experience required; all are welcome. Can't make either date? Self-taped video auditions are accepted too (details in the packet below).

We're also building our production crew — stage management, run crew, props, wardrobe, lighting, sound, publicity, and more.

In case you missed it, or need a friendly reminder, we wanted to share information about arrangements for our friend, Bob Brown.

A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, July 25th, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium at Southern State Community College in Hillsboro.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the college.

For more than four decades, Bob gave his time, talent, friendship, and heart to this theatre and to our community. We know many of you would like the opportunity to celebrate his life, share your stories, and remember the man who meant so much to so many.

With "Fire in the Night Season: The Trial of Philip Partridge" just over one week away, we want to remind all ticket holders that you must bring your ticket or have the QR code pulled up on your phone in order to be admitted to the theatre.

If you are no longer able to attend, please email [email protected], or call 937.393.3431 ext. 2794, with your name and confirmation number so we can release your tickets to others hoping to attend.

Thank you again for the overwhelming support for this one-night-only performance.

We look forward to seeing ticket holders on Friday, July 17. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the performance begins at 7:00 p.m.

Today, we lost one of our closest friends, Bob Brown. For more than twenty years and 23 roles with Rainee Angles, and many more under Ed Daniels, Bob was the best of us all. A talented actor and an ornery friend, when you needed help, someone to lean on, or just a laugh, Bob was the right person to go to. Bob loved this theatre, his town, his community, and knew everyone (and maybe a little gossip about each, as well). For many years, Bob threatened us all with his retirement, claiming ‘this one’ as his final show. Well, Bob, you’ve earned your retirement, your curtain call, you will be so deeply missed… we just wish we could convince you to come back for just one more show, for one more bow, for one more laugh.

"Fire in the Night Season: The Trial of Philip Partridge" is now fully sold out!

No additional tickets will be released online or at the door.

If you see anyone attempting to sell tickets to this performance, please report it to SSCC Theatre via DM or by emailing [email protected] with the individual’s name and screenshots of the listing or messages. Tickets for this event were offered free of charge, and no one should be purchasing them from a third party.

We look forward to welcoming ticket holders on Friday, July 17. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., and the performance will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Less than 115 tickets remain for SSCC Theatre Company's one-night-only performance of "Fire in the Night Season: The Trial of Philip Partridge." Reserve your free seats now before they're gone.

Part of the America 250 Celebration in Highland County, this original docudrama tells the story of Philip Partridge, the Highland County engineer whose actions on the night of July 5, 1954, forced Hillsboro to confront school segregation in the wake of Brown v. Board of Education.

Rehearsals begin Wednesday, May 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium.

All cast and crew members should email Rainee Angles at [email protected] ASAP to accept their role or position.

"Fire in the Night Season: The Trial of Philip Partridge" will be presented for one night only on July 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Southern State Community College. Admission is free.
