Jon Crane is known for his breathtaking landscapes, but among his many passions he is also an avid fisherman. Painted in 2017, "Catching the Light" captures a fisherman on Shuswap River near Armstrong, British Columbia. Jon is always looking for the next best fishing site.

We are finally in October and the fall memories can begin! Jon Crane has captured many fall scenes over the years, such as his 2006 painting “Autumn Prayer,” that embodies that brisk and calm atmosphere that the autumn season brings to our lives. Featured in the composition is a country church northwest of Dubuque, Iowa in the full embrace of fall.

The prints are available both on our website and at our gallery in Hill City.

Jon Crane is known for his technique with dry brush watercolor, but before one of his paintings comes to life it all starts with a photo. Jon keeps his camera with him so that when inspiration strikes he can capture his vision and collect good reference photos for his paintings!

Painted in 2002, "Reflections of Fall" captures the mill in Babcock State Park near Beckley, West Virginia. Jon visited the location over 4 times in efforts to get the exact lighting he wanted to capture. Due to the size of the original painting, it took considerably longer to paint than the majority of his work.

The prints are available both on our website at our gallery in Hill City.
