I would like to take a moment to say thank you and sadly goodbye to some truly incredible women:
Carmen Campoverde Horana had taken the lead on arranging our after prom entertainment for the past three years. She handled all the calls and emails, worked with vendors, organized decorations for the casino area, and continued to improve everything year after year. She even successfully established her successor—no small feat!
Emily Harper Fish, a former President of the HHSPA, has expertly managed our after prom raffle. Over the years, she has created countless gift baskets, handled all the purchases, and ran the raffle the night of After Prom with ease and enthusiasm, well as much enthusiasm as you can have at 3:30am.
Mari Vance has been our driving force behind food donations. She begins visiting restaurants as early as January to secure contributions and then coordinates all the pickups for the big night. I truly don’t think anyone says no to Mari—we are always overwhelmed with the generosity she brings in!
Kathy New Geissel has been our decorating lead for the past two years, and if you’ve seen our events, you already know how incredible her work is. Her attention to detail is astounding, and she has spent countless hours both at the school and at home bringing everything to life.
Purvi Dogra joined the HHSPA board last year as our treasurer, stepping into the role when we really needed it. I’m so grateful for her support and dedication.
I know these few words don’t fully capture everything these women have done, but please know how deeply I appreciate all they’ve contributed to the HHSPA. And I also know we’ll continue to see them around, lending a hand at our future After Prom events.
