Picture the moment the lights go down at the reception. Somewhere near the DJ booth, a millennial has been waiting three hours for one specific song, and when it finally comes on she grabs the mic and sings every word of it while her best friend laughs so hard she can barely stand.

While everyone dances to one song, your DJ is already listening to the next one in their headphones. You can't hear it. They're getting it ready so it starts on the exact beat where the last one ends.

Think about the last party where the music never stopped. Your friends kept pulling you back onto the floor, someone was laughing at the bar, and one song slipped into the next so smoothly that nobody even looked up. That moment is what your DJ spent the whole last song working on.

We sketch everything before it becomes reality. Corporate events and weddings hold the same weight for us, and dedicating real time to planning is one of our top priorities.

The marquee letters, the balloon install, the uplighting on that wall of mounted deer. Every piece gets planned out before it's built. What starts as a sketch of the room ends up looking exactly like this.

The mistakes we see most when couples are choosing their venue.

1. Skipping the power walkthrough. Your DJ booth, lighting, and effects all need outlets that can run at the same time, and most people don't find out they can't until the night of.
2. Never asking about the sound curfew. If you don't ask, the venue picks your last song time for you, and it's almost always earlier than you'd guess.
3. Not checking the vendor policy. Some venues want outside entertainment approved ahead of time, and finding that out late can cost you the venue you already fell in love with.
4. Forgetting to look up. Low beams and chandeliers can take lighting towers off the table completely, and nobody thinks to check until it's too late.

We walk every couple through this before you sign anything, so none of it turns into a surprise on your wedding day.
