Join Donovan Mixon on Thursday night at The Art Center as he unveils a new performance titled Finding Center: A Sonic Memoir at The Art Center.

Donovan will be joined by fellow musicians for a performance that is a meditation on chaos and calm, loss and love, despair and hope — a search for balance that feels both intimate and universal.

“Music has been my anchor and my refuge,” Mixon shares. “It has helped me navigate the storm, find fleeting moments of peace, and hold onto the light even as darkness loomed.”

Join us at The Art Center Highland Park next Thursday, July 30 for a lecture from sculptor and civic art innovator Itamar Amrany. He will be presenting on ‘The Art of Legacy: How Public Art Shapes Memory, Identity, and Place.’

Amrany is a recognized designer and civic art innovator. He has led the creation of monumental public artworks and plazas across the United States, including iconic sports monuments and culturally significant civic installations.
