Highland Park is open and so is Gallery Five!

As we begin to put the pandemic in the rear view mirror, it’s a great time to visit Gallery Five, the contemporary fine art gallery in Highland Park. I’m joined artists , , and , and we have a great number of new pieces on display.

Come by and see us Tuesday - Saturday, noon to 4pm. We’re located in the heart of Port Clinton Square in beautiful downtown Highland Park, Illinois.

Hello 2021!
Today we are featuring Mark Hersch’s Latest work:

"Randolph Street, 1947/2020"

A great view of Randolph Street and the RKO Palace Theater, one of Chicago's great movie houses. Restored in 1999, today it's the Cadillac Palace, part of Broadway in Chicago, and has played host to long-run performances of "Mamma Mia", "The Lion King", "Shrek The Musical", and Disney's "Aladdin", among many others.

The next scheduled show to play the Cadillac Palace is "Come From Away", the remarkable true story set in the week following 9/11 attacks, when the town of Gander, Newfoundland, Canada welcomed passengers from 38 planes that were forced to land there. I'm very excited to see this show, as my good friend Dayna Steele and her wonder husband, the famed NASA pilot Charles Justiz, are investors!

Seen in the distance is the Nederlander Theater, formerly the Oriental Theater. Also originally a movie house, it was restored in 1996 and now hosts major Broadway shows, such as "Wicked" and "Billy Elliot". It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
