Jahnathan Hyppolite as Bobby Grayson

“Unlike some people I know, I have to work for a living….and for an education.” Meet Bobby Grayson. A college student and a classmate of Rachel, Bobby is ‘dancing” his way to his dream of earning his Ph D. An orphan since birth, Bobby helps Rachel to appreciate just how lucky she is to have her family.

Jahnathan is making his debut at the High Springs Playhouse, but is no stranger to the stage. He has been seen recently in Kong's Night Out at the Gainesville Community Playhouse and The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon at the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre. He would like to thank all of the cast and crew for being so wonderful to work with, and hopes that you enjoy the show!

AJ Walden as Rachel Ann

“I know what I’m missing: a life. I feel like locking myself in my room and never coming out.” Meet Rachel Ann, Connie’s 22 year old daughter. A college student majoring in Theatre, with a minor in Psychology. A bit dramatic, Rachel seems to have issues with life and men….until bridge night opens her eyes.

This is AJ's second production at HSP, most recently being seen as Francie in Happily Ever After: A Wedding Comedy. She has also been seen in The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon at the ART in Gainesville. She would like to thank her friends and family for their support!

Meet the cast of Exit Laughing!

Mychelle Albury as Millie

“There has never been an elephant in this room, and you know it!” Meet Millie, the Rose Nylund-ish member of the friend group. She moves to her own drummer, even though she’s the only one who can hear him. She appears innocent and naive, but has a mischievous side as well.

Mychelle has been thrilled to step back onto the HSP stage as an actor this year after being on the production and directing side of the stage for the last few years. She was most recently seen as Gwenjane in Happily Ever After: A Wedding Comedy. Mychelle has also directed The Odd Couple - Female Version and been the Assistant Director for Boeing, Boeing, Wait Until Dark, & Old Time Christmas Radio Shows at HSP. Mychelle teaches Psychology, Government, and Economics at Columbia High School and is the co-sponsor of the CHS Drama Club / International Thespian Society Troupe 2934. She thanks you all for supporting local theatre and hopes that you enjoy the show!

Kristin Eckelmann as Leona

“What’s said at the Snip & Curl STAYS at the Snip & Curl!” Meet Leona, the caustic and adventuresome friend in the group. A beautician by profession, Leona owns the Snip and Curl - but that hasn’t been her only career! She knows that her friends call her a lush behind her back, but she doesn’t care - just don’t try to serve her rum!

Kristin is delighted to be making her debut with the High Springs Playhouse. Previous stage credits include Princess Dragomiroff in Murder on the Orient Express and Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, along with dinner theater and several other productions at the Chief Theatre . She is grateful for the opportunity to return to the stage and thanks her fellow cast, crew, and supporters for making this experience so special.

Shelly Flanagan as Connie

Hey ya'll! Shelly Flanagan is tickled to be playing Connie Harland in Exit Laughing. While Connie prefers proper behavior, bless her heart, Shelly is always up for an adventure. But give it one wild bridge night with friends, and Connie is fixin' to cut loose. I reckon they might have more in common than either one would like to admit. Shelly thanks her hubby Billy for his love, support, and never expecting her to behave.

Exit Laughing is Shelly's debut show at the High Springs Playhouse, but she is not new to the stage. You may have seen her onstage at the ART in December, or in past shows at the Limelight Theatre (St. Augustine), Orange Park Community Theatre, or the Starke Community Theatre.

We had a huge turnout to audition for Robin Hood last week - everyone did such a great job! Many difficult decisions had to be made regarding the final cast selections. We hope that each of you who auditioned will continue to audition for future shows.
