The story of Diana’s made New Creations
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
Galatians 2:20
I began this booth because of the beauty of restoring the old and making it new. In this booth you’ll notice I often find treasures that were thrown out or not wanted because their apparent value was hidden. Other treasures I’ve put here weren’t loved and appreciated. People moved on from them or sold them because the care or restoration seemed too much.
One day while I was cleaning a piece of furniture like I’ve just described, it hit me how much fun I was having. I realized through that discarded piece that I was actually worshipping my Creator. As I washed down this piece that had been thrown out and on the side of the road, God reminded me of how I had been valued by some people in my life—thrown aside and not wanted.
But Jesus cleaned me up and sanded me down and put a fresh coat of paint on me. I don’t look the same as I once did! Cleaning me up has taken a lot more time than I wanted it to. When I think He is done, He will start sanding me down some more. I am in constant process. Romans 12:2 declares, “Do not conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” I am being made new, but one day I will be made complete.
While restoring the old helped me begin this booth, I also do these projects so I can fulfill the Great Commission. Matthew 28:19-20 states, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing then in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age.”
My husband is a pastor which gives me opportunities to go overseas and tell others the good news that Jesus restores broken lives just like mine. In this season of our lives and ministry, we are going into Hungary and western Ukraine caring for refugees from the war. As you are blessed with an item or two from Diana’s Made New Creations, I am able to reinvest some of what I make I to support the refugees of that region—those who’ve been thrown out and mistreated. Just like me, they need to know that Jesus loves them and wants to make them new.
You can know that your joy in a “made new” item from my booth does so much more than just that—it helps keep the goodness of God’s “making new” work alive all around the world!
