🩵 They could be anywhere else…but they choose On Stage. 🩵

Recently, one of our dance moms made a comment that really stuck with me:

ā€œšŸ©µšŸ¬šŸ©µā€¦. when the kids want to be there as much as they do you know you’re doing something right!

They could be any where else, but they choose On Stage!ā€

And WOW. That hit home.

One of the things we are most proud of at On Stage isn’t a trophy, an award, or a competition score.

It’s that our dancers STICK.

They come when they’re little…and somehow we blink and they’re teenagers.

They grow up in our classrooms. They move from tiny dance shoes to pointe shoes. They go from looking up to the ā€œbig girlsā€ to becoming the big girls that the little ones look up to. 🩰

They spend hours and hours here—not because they have to, but because they want to.

They come early. They stay late. They sit in the hallways doing homework. They eat dinner here. They laugh here. They occasionally cry here. They celebrate each other here. They make friendships here.

And somewhere along the way, On Stage becomes more than the place where they take dance.

It becomes their home away from home. 🩵

In a world where kids have SO many choices about where and how to spend their time, we never take it for granted that they continue to choose us.

And maybe that’s one of the greatest compliments we could ever receive.

They could be anywhere else.

But they choose On Stage. 🩵🐬🩵

And we are completely blown away—and incredibly grateful—that so many of them keep choosing us year after year.

Another very special On Stage milestone—Reina got her very first pair of pointe shoes! šŸ’—

There’s something so exciting about watching a dancer slip on those beautiful satin shoes for the first time. But what makes the moment even more meaningful is knowing just how much work happened before this day.

Pointe isn’t simply the next step because you’ve reached a certain age. It’s something you prepare for and earn through years of ballet training, building strength, developing proper technique and placement, listening to corrections, and showing the commitment and maturity needed to dance safely en pointe.

Reina, all of those classes, exercises, corrections, and moments of pushing yourself have brought you here. And while these may be your first pointe shoes, they represent so much of the dancer you’ve already become. 🩰

We are so excited to watch you begin this beautiful new chapter of your dance journey!

Congratulations, Reina! Keep working, keep growing, and most importantly, keep loving every moment of the journey. šŸ’•āœØ

Today we begin Season 32. šŸ’—šŸ¬

I’ve typed that sentence several times, and honestly, it’s hard for me to wrap my head around it.

Thirty-two seasons.

There was a time when On Stage was simply a dream in my head and a huge leap of faith in my heart. I knew exactly what I wanted it to be but I had no idea where this journey would take me. I just knew that I loved dance, I loved teaching kids, and I wanted to create a place where they could learn, grow, feel confident, make lifelong friendships, and know they belonged.

It hasn’t always been easy. There have been long nights, hard seasons, mistakes, growing pains, tears, worries, and more problems to solve than I could ever count. If you’ve been around here long enough, you’ve probably heard me say, ā€œAll problems have a solution.ā€ šŸ˜‚

But there has also been SO. MUCH. JOY.

Thousands of kids have walked through our doors.

I’ve watched tiny dancers grow into beautiful young women and men. I’ve watched shy children find confidence, kids discover something they’re passionate about, friendships form, goals get crushed, hearts get broken and put back together, and dancers learn lessons that had absolutely nothing to do with a tendu or a pirouette.

I’ve watched students graduate…and then years later walk back through those same doors holding the hand of their own little dancer.

Those moments get me every single time. šŸ’—

I’m incredibly proud of our alumni who have gone on to dance professionally, perform on college dance teams, earn scholarships, teach, choreograph, and build careers in the dance world.

But I’m just as proud of the dancers who became doctors, nurses, teachers, business owners, moms, dads and amazing human beings.

Because although dance is what brought us together, On Stage has never been only about dance.

I’ve been blessed with incredible teachers and staff members over these 32 seasons. Some have been here for a chapter and some for many chapters, but each one has helped write the story of On Stage.

And perhaps the part I could never have imagined when this dream began is that one day my own family would be beside me helping carry it forward—and that I would get to watch my grandchildren grow up here too.

That one gets me. 🄹

The dance world has changed tremendously over 32 seasons, and we’ve changed with it. We keep learning. We keep evolving. We keep trying new things. We keep dreaming bigger.

But the heart of On Stage hasn’t changed.

Love the kids.
Teach them well.
Expect their best.
Build their confidence.
Give them a place to belong.
And never forget that technique never goes out of style.

Our competition teams are bigger than ever. Our studio continues to grow. New families continue to trust us with their children, while families who have been with us for years continue to call this place home.

I don’t take any of that for granted.

To every parent who ever trusted me with your child, every dancer who ever walked through our doors, every teacher who shared their gifts here, every staff member who helped keep this crazy place running, every family member who sacrificed because this was my dream, and every person who has cheered On Stage on along the way…

Thank you.

You took a dream that belonged to me and helped turn it into something that belongs to all of us.

Walt Disney said, ā€œAll our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.ā€

Thirty-two seasons ago, I had a dream.

Today, I get to walk through the doors and live it.

And maybe my favorite part of all is that after 32 seasons…

I’M STILL DREAMING. šŸ’—āœØ

Here’s to Season 32, On Stage.

I can’t wait to see what we do next.

(And it only seems appropriate the dancer in the picture is the daughter of one of our first dancers!)

šŸ©°šŸ’— Behind Every Pointe Shoe Milestone Is a Teacher Who Helped Make It Possible šŸ’—šŸ©°

We’ve been celebrating our dancers receiving their very first pairs of pointe shoes—and now we want to celebrate someone who played such an important role in getting them there: Julianna Luchau, the director of our ballet program šŸ’•

Getting a dancer ready for pointe doesn’t happen overnight. Long before the satin shoes and excited smiles, there are countless hours spent building strength, refining technique, correcting placement, developing control, and making sure each dancer is truly ready—physically, technically, and mentally.

And Julianna has gone above and beyond for these dancers every step of the way.

She has challenged them, encouraged them, believed in them, and prepared them carefully for this moment. And when the big day finally arrived, she didn’t just send them off to get their shoes—she showed up. ā¤ļø

Julianna spent her Saturday alongside her students, helping each one through the fitting process and making sure they found the perfect first pair of pointe shoes. She was there to answer questions, check each fit, share in their excitement, and celebrate a milestone she helped them work so hard to reach.

That kind of dedication is what teaching is all about.

It’s not just the hours spent in the studio. It’s caring enough to give your time outside of class. It’s being invested in your students’ growth and their dreams. It’s showing up for the moments they’ll remember forever.

And perhaps one of her students said it best:

ā€œShe’s a gem.ā€ šŸ’ŽšŸ’—

We couldn’t agree more.

Julianna, thank you for pouring so much into these dancers. Thank you for holding them to high standards while encouraging and loving them along the way. Thank you for preparing them responsibly and thoughtfully for pointe. And thank you for giving up your Saturday to make this milestone even more special.

We are so grateful to have you at On Stage. These beautiful new pointe dancers—and the smiles on their faces—are a wonderful reflection of the teacher behind them. 🩰✨

Sometimes the best teachers don’t just teach the steps… they show up for the journey.

And Julianna, we think you’re a gem too. šŸ’ŽšŸ’•

Today it’s Kaylee’s turn to celebrate one of the most exciting milestones in a young dancer’s journey—her very first pair of pointe shoes! šŸ’—

There’s a special kind of excitement that comes with opening that first pointe shoe box. But inside that box is so much more than satin, ribbons and a beautiful new pair of shoes.

It holds years of hard work.

Every pliƩ.
Every relevƩ.
Every ballet class.
Every correction.
Every exercise that built strength.
Every time she had to try something one more time.
Every day she showed up ready to learn and grow.

All of those little moments added up to this BIG one. 🩰

At On Stage, we believe pointe is never something to rush. Being ready requires strong feet and ankles, proper alignment, core strength, balance, control and solid ballet technique.

But it also requires the qualities that help our dancers grow far beyond the studio:

šŸ’• Patience
šŸ’• Discipline
šŸ’• Commitment
šŸ’• Responsibility
šŸ’• Perseverance
šŸ’• Confidence

Kaylee, you have worked toward this moment, and you are READY! ✨

We hope you remember how you felt when those first pointe shoes went on your feet—the excitement, the pride and maybe even that little moment of ā€œI can’t believe I’m finally here!ā€ šŸ’—

Because someday those first shoes will be worn out and replaced by another pair…and then another. But there will only ever be ONE first pair.

And this one represents the beginning of an exciting new chapter in your dance journey. 🩰✨

Congratulations, Kaylee! You didn’t just get your first pointe shoes—you EARNED them!

We are SO proud of you and can’t wait to watch you continue to grow, dream and dance your way through everything that comes next! šŸ’—

🩰✨ Lucie’s First Pair of Pointe Shoes — And That Smile Says It All! ✨🩰

Some moments don’t need many words because the smile says it all…and Lucie’s smile when she received her very first pair of pointe shoes tells you exactly how special this moment was. šŸ’—

Getting your first pair of pointe shoes is one of those milestones a dancer never forgets. But at On Stage, pointe shoes aren’t something you simply get because you reach a certain age.

They are something you prepare for. Work toward. And EARN.

Long before those beautiful satin shoes go on, the work has already begun.

It’s years of ballet training and technique.
It’s building strong feet, ankles, legs, and core.
It’s learning placement, alignment, balance, and control.
It’s showing up consistently and putting in the work.
It’s listening to corrections, pushing through challenges, and having the patience to keep growing.

And it’s about so much more than physical strength.

It’s commitment. Discipline. Perseverance. Maturity. And confidence.

Lucie, seeing the happiness on your face made this milestone even sweeter. That beautiful smile says everything about how much this moment meant to you — and we were so happy to share it with you! 🄹🩷

We are incredibly proud of the work you’ve put in to reach this moment. Those beautiful new pointe shoes represent every class, every correction, every challenge, and every bit of determination that brought you here.

Congratulations, Lucie! 🩰✨
Keep working hard, keep believing in yourself, and most importantly…keep that beautiful smile! šŸ’•
