Better day today, started with a simple twist pen barrel set...turned out very nice, American Black Walnut barrels, moved on to prepping a few pen barrel segments, lots of success so far, prepped cocobola barrels for a fountain pen, turned them and they are looking very nice...more sanding, polishing, segmenting, cutting trimming and assembling to do...

The "Lacey Act' is threatening the woodworking industry; originally intended to protect birds and wild-life, it was expanded to include species of wood, thus threatening the guitar industry as well as other wood processing industries including the furniture market. These are the unintended consequences of a poorly written law, the law needs to be restored to it's original intent of protecting birds and leave the wood working industry alone. Call your congressman/woman, Senator/s and tell them to correct their misdeed.

This must not be my week; a series of "blowouts" either the binding agent is no good or I'm just appling too much pressure...working on a seies of segmented pens, combining wood and metal, my tools are feeling the pain, had a few successes though...
