It is after much consideration that we share this bittersweet news: we have decided to close No Dominion. The pandemic has allowed for lots of reflection and with our own lives and careers blossoming, we agreed that it is the best decision for all of us.

Back in 2015 when we started this company, we did so with the intention to produce our own work and the work of those close to us. Over the course of 7 (!!!) years, we did just that: 6 main stage productions, 4 H.A.T.C.H. events through our incubator series, countless staged readings + development workshops, story slams across NJ including a very exciting Story Lounge in partnership with McCarter Theatre Center & Princeton Public Library, as well as new virtual story slams, readings, presentations, and festivals since the pandemic hit — all allowing us the immense pleasure of working with over 100 diverse writers, actors, directors, designers, and musicians from all over the country and the world! We are immensely grateful to look back on all of our accomplishments over the years — things that when starting this company in Michael’s aunt’s Jersey City apartment, we could have only hoped were possible.

Over the years, we have been most appreciative of YOU, who have supported us from the beginning — who came to see our plays in whatever (admittedly sometimes strange) location we were performing in, who submitted work, who auditioned, who costumed, who lighted, who stage managed, who shared your stories, who liked & commented on our social media posts — who believed in our little dream and made it a reality. From the bottom of our hearts - truly - THANK YOU, forever and ever and always.

While we are closing this chapter, we are hardly leaving this world behind. You can find Chandy as Box Office Manager at UCPAC & freelance costume designer; Kaitlin as Park Avenue Armory’s Manager of Institutional Giving; & Michael as founder of Brevity Media Co.

We cannot thank you enough for all your love and support, & look forward to seeing you in the wild. Stay in touch, stay healthy, and KEEP SUPPORTING THE ARTS!

One last time,
Kaitlin, Michael, & Chandy

On Tuesday we lost our beloved friend and board member Roxanne Overton, mother of our Executive Director, Kaitlin Overton. She was a lover of the outdoors and patron of the arts and her presence in all of our lives will be sorely missed. We’re sending all the love we can muster to Kaitlin and her family.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations in Roxanne's name to the Hunterdon Cancer Center, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington NJ 08822 or to the Spruce Run Lutheran Church, 442 West Hill Road, Glen Gardner, NJ.
