Oh goodness what a fantastic night at Hetndon High School - the Golden Age of Music - ‘ Kiss me Kate’ - superbly performed by a huge cast, and backed up by a fantastic pit orchestra, musical director Jeremy Schoop. Well done to all performers, musicians and techies - with Director and assistant Director Scott Purfumi, Erin Grogan and dance captain Brandi Weston. Show on Saturday at 2pm and 7pm, Sunday at 2pm - do not miss this show - your toes will be tapping, you’ll laugh so much - such fun !!

Quin Tango are returning to Arts Herndon ! And we are so excited! Their music is sultry - the heartbeat of classical Argentinian tango channeled by a quintet of brilliant musicians and their crackerjack bandoneon player. This is tango like you’ve never imagined it: classical chops, jazz harmonies, and intimate arrangements written for the group by outstanding composers in Buenos Aires. ‘Chamber tango’ is the result of this musical alchemy, a middle ground that draws in lovers of both classical and non-classical music to experience the fullness of life—the stories, the culture, and the exhilaration of tango. Special thanks go out to our judge Rahshia Sawyer and our Herndon Town Council members in attendance Sheila Olem and Signe L. Friedrichs. The winners were chosen from 170 submitted photographs: Steven Welti won first place for Escape Your Mind. Reggie Forster won 2nd place for In the Shadow of the Anthem. Joe Ditchett won 3rd place for Gateway. Honorable mentions were given to Steven White for Preparing To Go In, Jim Turner for Vase and Fall Branches, and Richard Paul Weiblinger for Folds 1501. Merit awards were given to Craig Beyers for Trawler at Dawn and Deborah Lash for Here’s Looking at You, Kid (2).

As a community art center, ArtSpace Herndon features a 1,700 sq foot art gallery showcasing the art and events by locally, regionally, and nationally known artists and performers. ArtSpace has two classrooms for all types of art classes and small group sessions with artists. These spaces are also available for rent for private receptions and business gatherings. ArtSpace welcomes residents and visitors to experience and participate in the arts. ArtSpace Herndon is staffed with volunteers and supported by grants and your donations. We rely on the generous support of citizens, businesses, and organizations.
