In celebration of its 60th anniversary, Herkimer County Community College launched its “60 Acts of Service for 60 Years” initiative.

As part of this effort, the College invited Herkimer County municipalities and nonprofit organizations to submit service projects that could be completed by students, faculty, and staff. The initiative aims to strengthen community partnerships, address local needs, and complete 60 meaningful acts of service by the end of 2026.

We are honored that the Town of Herkimer Park was selected to participate in this outstanding program. Yesterday, a dedicated group of HCCC faculty and staff joined us to help beautify the park for the season.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and hard work. We sincerely appreciate your efforts and value the strong partnership and collaboration between Herkimer County Community College and the Town of Herkimer. Together, we are making a positive difference in our community. ☀️🪏🌳

Our 2nd Annual Community Day will take place on Saturday, August 22nd at the Town Park. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of relaxing and connecting with fellow community members. 12pm-5pm. More details to follow. Save the date! 😎

This morning we welcomed themomwalkco.herkimer as they hosted a meetup at the park. They had a great turnout and enjoyed the paved walking trail.

Have you utilized the Fitness Court at the park? It is completely FREE to use and is designed for all fitness levels. Whether you're looking to get more active or are more of a workout regular, there is something for everyone.

Download the Fitness Court app from your App Store on your phone. Access guided workouts catered to your fitness level, track your progress and build strength while enjoying some fresh air.

Looking to add some cardio to your workout? Run or walk along the 1/2 mile, paved trail that borders the Fitness Court.

Get outside, get active and enjoy this unique amenity that we are grateful to have right here in our backyard. 💪☀️

We are thrilled to partner with the Herkimer chapter of The Mom Walk Collective as they have chosen our Town Park to host one of their upcoming Mom Walks.
🌷☀️

The Mom Walk Collective (TMWC) is a global community movement founded in 2022 to combat the isolation and loneliness often felt during motherhood. What began as a single TikTok invite for a coffee walk has grown into a network of over 450 cities across more than five countries, including the US, Canada, South Africa, and the Caribbean.

TMWC Herkimer will also be at our upcoming Wellness Fair event on 7/11 so you can meet the founders and learn more about what they do.

If you’re a local mom who is looking to connect with other moms, get outside and have some fun with your kiddos, checkout their page for ongoing events. We hope to see you on Wednesday April 22nd which is also Earth Day - a perfect day to get out and enjoy the park 🌎♻️
