Kade’s Playground and Splash Pad offer a fun, safe, and accessible space where kids of all abilities can play together, build confidence, and make friends — bringing joy and inclusion to our entire community. and a growing list of project donors are honored to unveil the name of Jefferson County’s very first universally accessible playground. Childhood is a precious time for any child, but when a

child’s days are limited on this earth their family and friends rally to make each moment count. Kade was born with Mitochondrial Disease that causes many complications including seizures and global developmental delays. Kade’s parents dreamed of the day he could play on a playground like every other child. Unfortunately, typical playgrounds are not designed for most children and adults with disabilities and/or life critical illnesses. Kade, at the young age of 3, was called to Heaven last year on October 14th, 2011. His passing fueled both Josh and Annette‘s determination to bring a universally accessible playground to his community. Josh reached out to Natalie Blakemore, founder of Unlimited Play who has successfully completed 4 playgrounds in the area, and together along with a very dedicated Mayor, Park Board, and Fire Department it is happening for the community of Jefferson County. The new Unlimited Play playground being built in Herculaneum will honorably be named Kade’s Playground.

This week’s shout-out goes to City of Herculaneum , Herculaneum City Park , & Kade's Playground! 🌳

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve one of the great public spaces in our community. Our parks provide a place for families to gather, kids to play, and neighbors to enjoy the outdoors, and we’re proud to play a small role in helping keep them clean and welcoming for everyone.

⚠️ Splash Pad Closure Notice ⚠️

The Splash Pad at Kade's Playground will be closed on Thursday, June 11, to allow for repairs to the rubber safety surface near one of the drain areas.

During a recent inspection, staff identified damage to the surface that requires immediate attention to help ensure the area remains safe for all visitors.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these repairs and work to keep Kade's Playground and Splash Pad safe and enjoyable for everyone.

We plan to reopen the splash pad on Friday, June 12, once repairs have been completed and the area has been inspected for safety.

Our Soccer Camp is back this year.

We had great feedback from last summer and are excited to host this camp again. It was a big hit with kids and parents, and we are looking forward to another fun and engaging camp focused on skills, teamwork, and enjoying the game.
