Another custom gorget is going out tomorrow. So this one has plastic plates and not as heavy as the washer ones.
ABS plates riveted with brass solid rivets. Sandwiched by 2 oz leather.
A leather covered 18 gauge aluminum neck collar.
Then the edge is covered/wrapped in 1oz black leather.

A lot of time went into them but fun.
3 oz leather straps woven and stitched. Then stitches on top of 3 aluminum splints on top of 2 oz leather. Then 2 oz leather tooled and added for the sides. Both top and bottom capped.

I wish I would have thought of this earlier. Dremel tool mounted in a Dremel tool adjustable drill press.
Burnishing the leather edging made it easier .

And the hand stitching begins... Boy howdy what did I get myself into? This is going to be a pair of armored vambraces...

This is going to be a pair of armored vambraces.. (forearm protection)
Underneath is 2 oz chap leather with 3 aluminum splints to give real protection.
Well back to it. I only wish the kind leprechaun would come as I sleep and stich this up.
