Center for the Arts at Henrico High School

Center for the Arts at Henrico High School The Center for the Arts provides training to high school students in theatre, dance, musical theatre, and visual arts.

The Center for the Arts at Henrico High School was the county's first specialty center, opening its doors in 1989. Beginning with a Dance and Theatre program, the Center expanded to include Visual Arts in 1995 and Musical Theatre in 1998. The Visual Arts facility, dedicated in 2009, incorporates high ceilings into its four classrooms. Natural light fills the space, and each room has professional q

uality studio equipment for developing artists. The gallery gives students a formal option for displaying their work. In the spring of 2013, Henrico High School began a series of renovations that will continue to enhance all aspects of the school. The Center now has a new dance studio, new black box theatre, and expanded spaces for musical theatre. In addition to focusing on an arts specialty, students continue academic challenges in their additional five subjects. Many core courses feature an arts-infused emphasis to further their specialty through their academic courses.
