Kay Goldsby Artist

Directions

Kay Goldsby Artist Kay Goldsby is a contemporary abstract artist who sometimes enjoys painting in a semi-realistic manner

No matter what medium I happen to be working in, I look to color as the means to evoke emotion, elicit memories and draw in and produce a reaction in the viewer. Most of my color choices are intuitive and I find that, in particular with the abstracts that I have been working lately, the painting is most successful when I let it evolve as I am working. My main goal as an artist is to create something beautiful and sometimes be thought-provoking in both my subject matter and how I handle it.

Here's another "new" photo of the original Chamberlin Hotel around 1895. It sadly burned down in 1920. This was taken from a scan of glass plate negative and colorized.

A "new" photo of the Hygeia Hotel at Fort Monroe from 1887. We found a glass plate negative and scanned and colorized it.
