We were proud to sponsor the Music Orchard Richmond benefit event at Blue Atlas Restaurant this past weekend. The highlight was watching the students from the Peter Paul RVA program perform alongside Høly River — a collaborative showcase that was the result of a lot of dedication and hard work from everyone involved.

Supporting music education is our thing. Full stop.

Our new promotional swag arrived just in time too, so it was a great opportunity to connect with the community and get the word out about Sound Hall Studios. 🎵

Thank you Music Orchard Richmond. We look forward to continuing to support your mission.

At Sound Hall Studios, we believe music is for everyone. Not as a tagline. As a conviction.

That conviction is exactly why our COO and Vice President, Chris Davis, headed to Washington, D.C. earlier this month for the NAMM Advocacy Fly-In — joining more than 100 delegates from all 50 states for 250+ meetings with Members of Congress to fight for something we care about deeply: music education access for every student in America.

We believe access to music education is pivotal to creating incredible humans. It gives people an outlet, an identity, and a talent that can shape the course of their entire lives. Without sustained advocacy and federal funding through programs like ESSA Titles I, II, and IV-A, far too many students never get that chance. And that is simply not okay.

50 million students deserve access to music in school. This was NAMM’s 20th year of showing up to fight for them — and we are proud that Sound Hall Studios is part of that community.

Chris had the privilege of spending time with some other incredible people in the music industry during his time in D.C. — including Jenna Day of Day Violins LLC, Amanda Karhuse of National Association for Music Education, Annamarie Bollino of Prince William County Public Schools, Jon Miller, and Ryan Richman of Eastman Music Company. The energy, passion, and commitment in that room was something he will not soon forget.

One of the most encouraging takeaways? Music is one of the rare issues that genuinely unites Congress across party lines. When music is the cause, people find common ground. And that gives us a lot of hope.

We are so grateful for everyone who showed up this year, because your efforts are making a difference. 🎵

Okay but can we talk about how good these look on people? 😍🎵

We have been handing out shirts to our incredible supporters and the excitement is REAL. Seeing people wear Sound Hall Studios before we even open our doors — it genuinely means everything to us.

One of the things that has genuinely caught us off guard throughout this journey is the number of people who have shown up for Sound Hall Studios without us even having to ask. Strangers, friends, colleagues, and now someone we had never met before today — all stepping up in ways that have moved us more than we can adequately put into words. Today's story might just be our favorite one yet.

Earlier this week I was scrolling through Facebook Marketplace scouting out drum sets when we came across a listing for a Mapex Classic Saturn in a rare Root Beer Sparkle finish at a price that caught my attention. I reached out and asked if there was any flexibility on the price.

His response? “I noticed you’re involved with "Music is for Everyone"...Sound Hall Studios.

What followed was one of those moments that reminds you exactly why you are doing what you are doing. Shane came back with an incredible deal — not because he had to, but because he genuinely wanted to help bring this community to life.

And then today happened.

When I met up to make the purchase, Shane didn’t just show up with the drum set. He brought extra drum heads, sound rings, drum sticks, a brand new guitar stand, and — if you can believe it — a beautiful painting of an electric guitar that is going straight up on the walls of Sound Hall Studios.

I was completely speechless. Honestly, I still kind of am.

Shane, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You didn’t have to do any of that — and you did all of it. That is the kind of person you are, and that is the kind of community we are building this space for. We cannot wait for you to see this beautiful set in its new home.

Oh — and I made sure he left with our freshly minted “Music is for Everyone” bumper sticker. It felt like the least we could do. 🎵

Access to quality music education should not be a privilege — but for too many students in our community, it still is. That is something we are committed to helping change.

That belief is exactly why we are proud to be a sponsor of the upcoming Music Orchard Richmond benefit concert on Saturday, May 31st from 4 to 6 PM at Blue Atlas Restaurant and Market.

Music Orchard Richmond is doing something that matters deeply to us — increasing access to high-quality, inclusive music education for students across the Richmond area who might not otherwise have the opportunity to discover what music can do for their lives. That mission is not just one we admire. It is one we share.

This is going to be a beautiful afternoon of live music, community, and celebration. Folk and indie band Høly River will take the stage alongside students from the Peter Paul RVA program — a powerful reminder of what is possible when young people are given access to music education and the space to shine.

Here is everything you need to know:

Saturday, May 31st | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Blue Atlas Restaurant and Market, RVA
$10 cover | Kids 12 and under are free

Lawn games, raffle prizes, food and drinks, and music that matters — all for a cause that hits close to home for us. Every ticket supports Music Orchard Richmond students and the access to music education they deserve.

Open to the public. See you on the lawn. 🎵

We have an update — and an ask. 🎵

Renovations are underway at our new home in the West End of Henrico County, Virginia and we are on track to open our doors this July. We are so close — and we are so grateful for every person who has been cheering us on.

Now we need your help to take it all the way.

We have launched a GiveButter fundraising campaign to fund the final pieces that will make Sound Hall Studios everything we set out to build — acoustic panels, a baby grand piano, recording equipment, studio furnishings, outdoor signage, and more.

Every donation — big or small — makes a real difference. Every share helps us reach someone new who believes in what we are building. And as a thank you to everyone who gives, we have put together some meaningful donor rewards including membership access passes, Sound Hall Studios t-shirts, and a lifetime VIP membership for our most generous supporters.

Help us finish what we started. 🎸

Attention music teachers — this one is for YOU. 🎶

Are you tired of teaching out of your living room? Tired of giving up 40-50% of your lesson income to a music store that treats you like a room rental instead of the professional educator you are? Tired of having nowhere for your students to perform, grow, and truly belong?

We hear you. And we built something for you.

Sound Hall Studios is opening this July in the West End of Henrico County, Virginia — and we are actively inviting Independent Music Instructors across ALL disciplines to build and grow their studios within our space.

Here’s what makes us different:

🎸 Your income is YOURS. We do not take a percentage of your private lessons. Ever.
🎸 You set your rates. You manage your students. You control your schedule.
🎸 We provide acoustically treated teaching studios, recording studio access, performance opportunities for your students, in-house marketing support, and a professional community that actually has your back.

This is not a job. This is your studio — supported by ours.

Whether you teach band, orchestra, voice, piano, guitar, music theory, composition, early childhood music, recording & production, or anything in between — there is a place for you here.

Sound Hall Studios opens July 2026 and spots are limited. If you’re ready for more freedom, more support, and a professional home where your studio can truly thrive — we would love to connect.
