Many new things are coming this year to the Middle Tennessee Highland Games and Celtic Festival. So, what is this sign all about?
Since the clans will now be in a separate village at the top of the hill above the athletic field, we are going to turn the space just southeast of the field, by the lake, into Demonstration Cove.
The biggest addition to the Cove will be a Military Hospitality Tent, coordinated by the Sons of the American Revolution, which will also have their tent there. How appropriate is that for the 250th USA Anniversary? We are really excited about this, so if you are a veteran or active military, stop in, grab a water and snack and visit.
Also in the Cove, you will find Phil Lakin with his coo and sheep and Wing Blade Falconry with their very popular birds of prey.
Scout Troop 289 will be in the Cove giving camping cooking demonstrations and of course selling popcorn. It is that time of year. This troop brings a lot of volunteers to the games and we are very appreciative, so they are worth your support.
This year we also have a special new group, that should be very interesting, the Nashville School of Historical Fencing, showing off their fencing skills.
So put on your list of things to do, visit the Cove. It is almost next to the Athletic field so you can't miss it.
Now is a good time to get your tickets online. The week before the event, the prices do increase a bit.
