Well hello everyone!
So... funny story.
You may have received an unusual email with some fun musical theatre history...
The Overture (the newsletter you received) was originally supposed to be a little weekly thing just for our Hendersonville Theatre staff. A fun way to share some musical theatre history, learn more about the shows we love, and give everyone a tiny dose of theatre nerdiness each week.
Except... I may have goofed.
Instead of keeping it a small staff-only adventure, it ended up making its way a little further than intended... OOPS! But after the incredibly kind response and all of the “wait, are you doing more of these?” messages, I figured maybe this little project deserved to keep going.
So, The Overture is officially becoming part of the Hendersonville Theatre Performing Arts Academy! I’ll be sharing weekly editions exploring the shows, artists, moments, and weird little pieces of history that helped shape musical theatre into the art form we love today.
If you enjoyed the first edition and want to keep following along, you can subscribe to The Overture with the link below via Substack! That way, each new adventure will show up right in your inbox!
Thanks for being excited about learning, theatre history, and my very enthusiastic need to tell everyone why a random musical from 1927 is actually extremely important.
Thank you for all the loving support!
