Happy National Red Wine Day!
Momma needs it today more than ever.
Let me vent, ok?
My 4 -year-old has had an inner ear infection for a month and a half, and has been bleeding from his right ear. ER visit, 2 PCM visits, Urgent Care, antibiotics… nada.
The ENTs in the area are booked through November. We drove an hour and a half this morning to go to one that had an earlier opening only to be told our appointment was accidentally cancelled.
I said we weren’t leaving, so they squeezed us in. My son has Sensory Processing Disorder and is a Sensory Seeker. Meaning, waiting rooms are an open invitation for him to blank out, and run as fast as he can. This was fun, while we were being checked in. Of course, the computer was slow. Then I was given an iPad to answer 8 million questions. Try doing that with a kid who does NOT want to be restrained. The whole (packed, btw) waiting room was staring, and an old man said, “kid needs discipline.”
Ya think? Good luck, gramps.
Anyhow, two lovely ladies tried to help with Brandon while I answered questions like “Patient’s relationship status”?
I accidentally put down Common Law.
Oh well.
In the meantime, B threw one of those nice ladies phones.
Finally get to the actual Drs. Office, where he was great for the hour we were in there. He loves going to the Dr. - it’s just waiting rooms where he wants to run wild.
Anyhow, he is going to need a procedure to clean out his ears and nose- which has been bleeding like crazy this week. I mean, full on blood downpour. He was sent home from school with it and everything.
Meanwhile, the doc told me he was leaving the practice and we would be reassigned and would have to wait for surgery scheduling to contact us.
So, that’s fun.
Hour and a half drive back, which then he napped. So that means finishing a ton of work with a feral 4 year old who is demanding muffins and a Husky who wants outside, but it’s raining, so no.
Lord give me patience.
Until then, cheers.
Special needs moms… I see you.
And to anyone who looks at a kid being a ruckus and saying they need discipline… maybe mind your business.
Not all kids are the same, and you’re not helping.
Honestly, I was secretly willing B to kick him in the crotch, but my mommy esp is broken.
And to the two lovely women who saw me and offered to help, God bless you. Thank you for showing kindness when we needed it most.
I’m proud that I didn’t cry, though I really wanted to.
But… non- waterproof mascara.
Ok, thanks for listening.
And thank God for Merlot. 🍷
