Great music, food & historical programming! The Jesseland Irish Festival was a blast!

Cost of the festival? Free. Cost of sword fighting Goldie Gopher? PRICELESS.

Good work to the organization that maintains the property and produced this event, the Friends of Jesseland!

And shoutout to rockstar MSS volunteer, Travis, for running the show on our end!

East Henderson Farm Fest was amazing, and it sounds like the Reinitz’s are going to make it an annual event! 🌟Beautiful river valley homestead location, delicious BBQ plates and a killer potluck spread + great music from Josh Reinitz , Forrest & Farmer, The Ben Scruggs Band (in video) & Pocket Lounge. It was a blast!

Great job organizing this, Josh! I’m excited for more to come on the farm!

Postscript: in a prime example of the “can-do” spirit, Josh and Travis did that AWESOME lighting with 3 little borrowed DJ lights and a bunch of garage/shop floods as “spotlights” and to light up the woods. Amazing job guys!

CALL TO ARTISTS: Calling environmental artists, composers, writers, botanists, landscape architects, and researchers for a three-week residency at Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Set within a public garden and forest preserve, residents will have time to rest, reflect, and create while exploring their connection to nature.

Residents’ work should explore themes of nature and the environment. Residents stay alone in a furnished home tucked into the woods, with Wi-Fi, laundry, a stocked kitchen, and a smart car available for use.

Stipends of $1000-$1200 are available, and residents may receive up to $1,000 in travel expense reimbursement. Residents are encouraged to use their time in whatever way best supports their creative practice with no final project requirements.
