Every painting has a story.
Susan Paradis is currently working from a photograph taken by her friend Richard Edelen, a National Geographic photographer whose images inspired her for many years. Whenever she found a photograph she connected with, she would ask permission to paint from it, and he was always happy to share his work.
This was the last photograph she asked permission to use before Richard passed away unexpectedly.
Sometimes a painting becomes more than an exercise in learning technique. It gives us a way to celebrate friendships, preserve memories, and connect with the people who have touched our lives. That’s one of the many reasons creating art can be so meaningful. https://www.christhomasfineart.com/artclasses
