“If not, listen to me; hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.” — Job 33:33

Sometimes the greatest wisdom comes when we stop talking and start listening.

God is speaking. Are we making time to hear Him?

Sponsor Saturday Spotlight

Behind every great rodeo is a community of sponsors who believe in something bigger than the arena.

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to Capco Contractors, our Title Sponsor, for helping make the Black Gold Stampede possible. Their support doesn’t just put on a rodeo—it directly helps fund our youth scholarship program, giving young people in our community real opportunities for education, growth, and a stronger future.

This rodeo is about more than competition. It’s about investing in the next generation, preserving Western heritage, and opening doors for our kids—and none of that happens without sponsors who step up.

We’re proud to have Capco Contractors in our corner, and we encourage everyone to support the businesses that support our youth and our community.

See y’all at the rodeo October 9 & 10!!

Fear isn’t the absence of danger… it’s stepping up anyway.

Behind every rodeo moment is someone willing to stand their ground when it matters most. The bullfighters, barrelmen, and rodeo clowns don’t just entertain the crowd — they protect lives with courage, grit, and split-second decisions.

When the dust flies and chaos breaks loose, fearless isn’t about never being scared… it’s about choosing bravery in the face of it.

Here’s to the ones who step between danger and a fallen cowboy. That kind of courage can’t be taught — it’s earned in the arena.

TALENT TUESDAY

This week we’re shining the spotlight on PRCA Barrelman and rodeo entertainer John Harrison - Rodeo Clown Barrelman!

From protecting cowboys in the arena to keeping crowds laughing from the first event to the last, John brings unmatched energy, comedy, and heart to every performance. A multi-time PRCA Clown/Barrelman of the Year and multi-time National Finals Rodeo entertainer, he’s become one of the most recognized faces in professional rodeo today.

Known for his signature red hat, hilarious acts, and family-centered approach to rodeo life, John has entertained fans coast to coast while carrying on a legendary rodeo legacy of his own. Whether he’s dodging bulls, making kids laugh, or hyping up the crowd, he reminds everyone that rodeo is about more than competition — it’s about creating memories.

We’re proud to have him back this October 9 & 10 at the Black Gold Stampede!!

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

From the rodeo arena to everyday life, hard work, grit, and faith go hand in hand. At Black Gold Stampede, we’re thankful for every contestant, volunteer, family, and supporter who pours their heart into what they do.

No matter what trail you’re riding today, keep your faith steady and your spirit strong.

Today, one of our own graduates high school. His parents have served as committee members and board members, and he has been right there by their side getting his hands dirty, doing the heavy lifting, and showing up for any event to help make it a success. Today we recognize and congratulate Jacob Sprayberry for all of the hard work, dedication, and countless hours he has poured into the Black Gold Stampede Rodeo over the years. It has been a pleasure watching you grow into the fine young man you’ve become and your commitment to this committee has never gone unnoticed.

As you move forward into your next chapter, we want to wish you nothing but success, happiness, and blessings in the future. We know great things are ahead for you, and you’ll always be a part of the Black Gold Stampede family.

Thank you again for everything, Jacob — and best of luck on the road ahead.

From winning the 2024 PRCA Ba****ck Riding World Championship and earning his place under the bright lights of the National Finals Rodeo, Dean Thompson has built a career on toughness, grit, and heart. Now, he’s facing a battle far beyond the rodeo arena.

Cowboys aren’t defined only by the gold buckles they win, but by the courage they show when life gets hard. Dean has proven time and time again that he’s a fighter — from winning legendary rodeos like Pendleton Round-Up to becoming one of the top ba****ck riders in the world.

We ask our rodeo family to keep Dean, his wife, and his loved ones lifted up in prayer as he continues his fight against cancer. The rodeo world rides together, and nobody rides alone.

Dean, know there’s a whole lot of people pulling for you, including the Black Gold Stampede. 💛
