McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center McGregor Hall is a performing arts and learning center located in downtown Henderson, NC.

McGregor Hall Performing Arts and Learning Center is a $9,000,000 state-of-the-art 1,000-seat facility. It features a 3,200 square-foot stage, cutting-edge audio and lighting systems, and a full-range fly and rigging system. Construction expenses for the theater were funded by exclusively private donations raised by the Embassy Cultural Center Foundation, Inc., in accordance with the originally stated intention of the organization.

Hear ye, hear ye! The Henderson Rec Players' present "The Complete History of America (Abridged) TODAY, and it's time to conclude our !

Say hello to Laura Parker who takes the stage to portray, well, Laura Parker! The Laura you'll meet in this production is smart as a whip, and she needs to let everyone know it by employing every big word she can think of as she helps the cast stumble through America's past in celebration of it's 250th birthday!

Parker has most recently appeared on the McGregor stage in productions of "The Crucible" and "The SpongeBob Musical." Parker tells us that her "favorite thing about America is that we're a wonderfully messy mix of people, cultures, ideas and perspectives. Our strength comes from our diversity, our commitment to equality, and our willingness to question, learn, grow, and evolve." She also told us her favorite thing about McGregor and the Henderson Rec Players was "the community! Everyone is so kind, warm, and genuinely giving. It’s always a pure delight to do a show with the wonderful folks at McGregor."

Parker told us the show is "a fast, funny, irreverent, and honestly informative romp through 50,000 years of history! And I get to use a cardboard microphone. And I've heard there's gonna be pie..." and encourages audiences to join us for the laughs and the learning.

The Henderson Rec Players' present "The Complete History of America (Abridged) THIS FRIDAY, so let's continue to !

Today we meet Morgan McFalls who will portray none other than Morgan McFalls! Despite a degree in history, though it's medieval history, Morgan presents a hapless and often clueless version of himself. This Morgan might not be an American history buff, but he's full of optimism and wise-cracks from start to finish.

McFalls has most recently appeared on the McGregor stage in "Hello, Dolly!" and "Sweeney Todd." When asked about American history, he told us his "Favorite president is tough, but Teddy is up there due to his work to protect America's nature and parks." and also, "as far as amendments go, the 15th and 19th are so important, America as an ideal can't exist unless everyone has a voice in our democratic process."

We asked what he would say to encourage audiences to come out and he said "It's just a fun time, there's a ton of silly laughs and jokes. But there's also some poignant moments where we really reflect and look at our history before launching back into the comedy of it all."

The Henderson Rec Players' present "The Complete History of America (Abridged) THIS FRIDAY, so we better !

Today we meet Saylor Arnott who will be portraying... Saylor Arnott! Or at least a theatrical version of herself. The actors play heightened, often clueless or overly-enthusiastic versions of themselves trying (and hilariously failing) to present an accurate lecture on 600 years of U.S. history. This Saylor is the perhaps the glue and leader of our bumbling trio, trying her best to keep things on the rails, though she loves her hijinks as much as the next performer.

Arnott has been on the McGregor stage plenty, having been in roles such as Luisa in "The Fantastiks" and Annie in "The Play That Goes Wrong."

She tells us that "JFK always seemed pretty cool" when we asked about her favorite U.S President, and she also told us she's thankful for the 19th amendment in particular!

When we asked about American Culture and History, she told us "I love how America consists of different people, different cultures, and different opportunities to continue to learn about the past, but also continue to work toward a better future." And that's what this show is all about!
