One of my composition students, Liam Kornoely, worked with the Dreamscape VR development team at Lied Library to write a soundtrack for their latest virtuality reality experience: space exploration. Using a virtual reality helmet, tracking nodes, and haptic feedback, we were transported into a futuristic world to learn about different planets in our solar system . We even walked on the surface of Mars (so awesome). This was such a fun experience and I love how our composition students here at UNLV are taking part in these interdisciplinary collaborations!

Had a blast at the National Flute Association Convention! So happy with our performance last night of DREAM OF A FALLING STAR at the Opening Gala Concert, and a wonderful time reconnecting with friends and colleagues! And I’m excited to share that our studio recording of the piece was released today on all streaming platforms.
