Crocosmia is one of those fiery little flowers that doesn’t stay around long.
All that orange. All that heat. A bit of bold garden magic while it lasts.
Apparently crocosmia can symbolise passion, change, and life showing up in full color.
That feels fitting.

Ginger had to inspect the work because quality control is a serious department around here.
I believe we’ve passed. Possibly by one whisker.

Rule #2? Don't look at it again for 48 hours!

When you're in the middle of a painting, your brain is hyper-focused on every individual brushstroke. You're analyzing every branch. But when you walk away and come back two days later, you forget about the individual steps and finally see the whole painting.
That’s usually the moment you realize: "Hey, I actually made something really cool."

My current definition of a thrilling afternoon: crisp paper edges, precision trimming, and the deep satisfaction of a freshly sleeved print.

Putting these together is always my favorite part of the week—there’s just something about seeing a bold oil painting translate onto fine art paper with perfectly clean white borders.

Elsa provided supervisory support during the whole process by insisting my coffee sit there and get completely cold.

Ginger agreed to share desk space, though she made it very clear my paper cutter was actively interfering with her squirrel watching.

So now the owl, cardinal, eagle, blue truck, and forest prints are all trimmed, packed, and ready to bring a pocket of vibrant nature into your home.

A student once asked us before her first class, "Can I bring my own cubicle so no one sees what a mess I’m making?" 😅

She was joking, but that fear of someone watching over your shoulder when you're trying something new is so real.

Passed three whole fields of cotton on a country drive last year. I was running late, so I couldn't stop—and by the time I drove back, the sun had set and the light was dead.

I’ve been obsessed with painting it ever since.

I know cotton carries heavy symbolism for a lot of people, but honestly? I just wanted to paint those bright, fluffy pops of white exploding off a dark, swirly green background.

It took a year, but I finally got this 4x4 original out of my head and onto canvas. 🌿

She’s headed to Art in the Village Gallery shortly, but message me if you want to claim her before I drop her off!
