The corners take longer than the rest of the print combined. We hand-sand every edge until the wood rounds smooth.

Heritage Wood prints are built on three-quarter inch white birch. Your Fine Art paper is mounted directly to the wood substrate. We UV laminate the surface for durability. Then the hand work begins.

Every corner is hand-sanded until it rounds. On the Heirloom finish, we also hand-bevel the front edges. On Legacy, the front edge stays straight but the corners still get rounded by hand. The sanding happens in Henderson at our facility on East Dale Avenue. No automation. No router jig. Just sandpaper and time.

The birch substrate does not show through. What you see is your image on Fine Art Linen, Smooth Matte, Photo Rag, or Fine Art Luster paper depending on which finish you order. The wood is structural. The rounded corner is what makes it feel handmade when a client picks it up.

Keyhole hanger comes standard. Rustic twine hanger available at no extra charge if you prefer that look. Sizes start at five by seven inches and go up to forty-seven by forty-seven. Available in square, rectangle, circle, hexagon, and oval shapes.

Not every portrait belongs on the same paper. The surface you pick changes what the client sees and what they pay.

When you're talking through wall art options after a session, most clients default to what they know: canvas or maybe metal. But the photographers who close premium fine art sales? They walk clients through paper choice the same way a tailor talks through fabric.

Here's the structure. Show three versions of the same image printed on different surfaces. Photo Rag for a soft matte cotton finish that feels like museum work. Baryta for high gloss with deep shadow detail that reads like classic darkroom prints. Luster for clients who want color density but no fingerprint glare.

The client picks the surface that matches how they see the image. You're not upselling. You're guiding. And the print they choose at that level justifies the price because they made the call.

Most photographers think paper choice is about texture. It isn't. It's about how light reflects off the print in your client's home.

Matte cotton rag absorbs light. Shadow detail stays soft. Colors sit deeper in the surface. A portrait on Photo Rag feels quieter, more intimate. The viewer leans in.

Luster and baryta reflect light at controlled angles. Shadow detail holds more separation. Colors appear more saturated because the surface bounces light back toward the eye. A landscape on Baryta feels open, luminous. The viewer steps back.

Neither is better. Both are correct for different images and different walls. A matte cotton rag loses some color density compared to baryta, but it gains something you can't measure with a densitometer. It gains presence in soft light. That matters when the print hangs in a hallway with northern exposure. It matters when your client walks past it every morning.

We print Fine Art Paper Prints on the Epson SureColor P20570 with UltraChrome PRO12 pigment inks. Twelve colors including Violet for extended gamut. We inspect each print before we pack it. The texture told him which paper it was.

Fine Art Paper Prints at Simply Color Lab come off the Epson SureColor P20570. Twelve inks. Dedicated to paper only. No canvas. No metal. Just this machine and eleven paper surfaces.

Three Traditional Papers: Linen, Luster, Gloss. Seven Hahnemuhle Fine Art Papers: Baryta, Bright Rag, Photo Rag, Pearl, Bamboo, German Etching, Torchon. One Metallic: LexJet Sunset Photo Metallic. Each one matched to UltraChrome PRO12 pigment inks with Violet for extended gamut.

The paper you choose becomes part of the image. Baryta holds shadow detail with a bright white high gloss surface. Photo Rag softens edges on 100 percent cotton. Torchon grabs ink on a coarse structured surface. German Etching sits between them with a white mould-made finish.

Canvas texture adds depth to portraits and landscapes. It destroys line work and small text. Here's how to choose.

The weave in canvas substrates creates a textured surface that softens fine details. That's the material property you're working with.

Skin tones gain dimensionality. Fabric patterns hold depth. Landscape gradients feel organic. The texture enhances images where softness adds to the composition.

That same texture blurs small text and makes thin lines look broken. If your image includes sharp typography, technical diagrams, or architectural line work under a quarter inch, canvas will compromise clarity. The weave is visible at normal viewing distance.

If your image is a portrait with natural light, a landscape with sky gradients, or a scene where texture belongs in the subject matter, canvas enhances what's already there.

Rachel prints the hero image at 16×20, then lets four 8×10s frame the story around it.

Most photographers design a Metal Cluster by choosing five images they like. Rachel starts with one image she needs the client to see first, then picks four that serve it.

She uses Layout #3. The large panel anchors the right side. Four smaller panels fill the left, stacked two over two. One inch spacing between every panel. Wall coverage runs 32 by 22 inches.

Every panel is ChromaLuxe HD aluminum, gloss finish, printed on the Epson F6470 with UltraChrome DS dye-sublimation inks. Production runs three to four business days. Photoshop sizing template included so you can comp the grouping before you order.

Metal Clusters are six pre-designed groupings. Each one holds a lead image and lets the supporting panels serve it. One inch spacing between prints. Wall coverage from 20 by 20 inches up to 57 by 32 inches.

The layout does the work. You choose the design that fits the actual wall, then build the grouping around the strongest frame. Templates are included for sizing in Photoshop.
