The Shepherd’s Wool Market provides public education about fiber and its sources, promotes small farms, supports fiber artists and fiber-related businesses, and offers a venue for the public to interact with the fiber arts world. By sharing skills and knowledge with the public through demonstrations and workshops, the Shepherd’s Wool Market is sowing the seeds for future generations of fiber artists and craftspeople.

The Market features a diverse selection of more than 25 vendors, offering everything you need for fiber arts: roving, spinning supplies, yarns, items needed to knit, crochet, weave—and things you won’t know you need until you see them—not to mention unique, one-of-a-kind, handmade finished items! Classes for beginning fiber enthusiasts, a variety of demonstrations, and delicious food are available throughout the day.

A reminder that the 2022 Finger Lakes Fiber Festival is CANCELED. We have become aware that third party sites are advertising the festival as still happening but this information is not accurate and did not originate with us. We apologize for the confusion.

It is with deepest regret that we must announce the cancellation of the 2022 Finger Lakes Fiber Festival. This decision was not made lightly, but was necessitated by the Guild’s present inability to continue sponsoring an event of this size. No commitment is being made at this time as to the holding of a 2023 Festival. We understand your disappointment and we share in it.

It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2021 Finger Lakes Fiber Festival. The Board of the Genesee Valley Handspinners Guild (GVHG) made this decision out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of everyone involved with the festival: vendors, staff & volunteers, attendees, and all their loved ones. We hope that everyone stays healthy and that you plan on joining us on September 17 & 18, 2022, for next year’s Festival!

This weekend should have found us all together on the Hemlock Fairgrounds at the festival. We'd like to encourage everyone to come together virtually to shop with our vendors on September 19 and 20. Many of our vendors are having special sales and promotions over the upcoming days. Details can be found on the festival vendor webpage.
