Set in a small Texas town in anytime, U.S.A., Daddy's Dyin' concerns the reunion of a family gathered to await the imminent death of their patriarch, who has recently suffered a physically as well as mentally disabling stroke. In essence, however, it is not the story of the impending demise of the father or of the drafting of his will, but of a rebirth of the spirit of the family unit. Without becoming ponderous, losing a sense of humor or pandering to timeworn cliches about Texans or Texas drawls, the story shares many elements of a good summer novel: it's a fast, delicious, easy read with funny moments, tense moments, touching moments, and characters you care about.

CONTENT ADVISORY
The dark comedy Daddy’s Dyin’… Who’s Got the Will? is officially recommended for audiences 13 and older. This rating is primarily due to thematic elements regarding a dying patriarch, as well as some strong language, sexual references, and alcohol use. The play follows a bickering Texas family reuniting to wait for their father’s imminent death and frantically searching for his missing will.

RHP Theatre Update...

Josh Somers and Adam McQueen just installed our new LED Lighting System at the theatre. This will give us a lot more flexibility and options in all our future productions.

Key Benefits

Energy Efficiency: LED fixtures use up to 70% to 80% less power than traditional tungsten or halogen lights, significantly cutting operating and electricity costs.

Low Heat Generation: LEDs convert electricity into light instead of wasting power on massive thermal output. This keeps performers comfortable on stage and reduces strain on venue air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Extended Lifespan & Low Maintenance: Professional-grade LED bulbs last anywhere from 25,000 to 50,000 hours or more, eliminating the need for frequent, dangerous, and time-consuming lamp replacements.

Endless Color Flexibility: Multi-chip LEDs and built-in mixing modes (such as RGBW) allow venues to shift between a virtually limitless color palette instantly without manually swapping colored plastic gels.

Safety and Durability: Because they operate at much cooler exterior temperatures and lack fragile filaments, LEDs resist shock and vibrations well, making them safer to handle.
