Rest in peace, John Forté. Brooklyn-born and classically trained violinist, hip hop icon, Grammy-nominated, Fugees collaborator and producer, and also the creator of the Arts For EveryBody anthem, "You are home/You are loved." Living Waters from Phillips County had the honor of participating in that anthem. Sending peace and love to your family, John. Rest well. You are home, and you are loved.

We couldn't be more excited to introduce “You Are Home / You Are Loved” to the world. The song represents the heart of our campaign, drawing on the sounds an...

The Arkansas Delta is not actually a delta but rather 15 counties that comprise a part of the vast Mississippi River Alluvial Plain, made up of sediments brought from upstream and bisected by Crowley's Ridge.

Regardless of terminology, waters have been meeting over this land for thousands of years--creating and drowning civilizations, giving and taking life, shaping cultures, collective memory, and all life in this part of Arkansas. Phillips County is home to much of these waters--three rivers, over 30 lakes, countless streams, creeks, and ponds. Phillips County is a point of confluence--geographically, hydrologically, but also culturally.

Artistically unwinding the many layers of Phillips County is at the heart of Where the Waters Meet: Relic Boundaries in the Arkansas Delta. The show will run from Jan. 9-Feb. 28 at the Delta Cultural Center.

Join us for the opening reception Jan. 9th, 5-7 pm for performance and poetry.
