Senior Handprint Celebration and Interview ⤵️ Part 1
Name: Alessandra Cordova
How many years have you been part of the Premier family:
I’ve been dancing for 15 years — 5 years at Tap, Toe, & Twirl and 10 years at Premier!
What classes did you instruct at Premier:
I teach Monday Jazz 1.
What is your favorite dance genre and why:
My favorite dance genre is contemporary or jazz. Contemporary is very expressive and interpretive, while jazz is upbeat and fun.
Where will you attend college:
I will be attending UAB this fall, majoring in Nursing. In the future, I hope to earn my master’s degree and become a Nurse Practitioner.
What are two of your favorite memories at Premier:
It is so hard to choose only two favorite memories, but I would have to say all of the fun we had in our Jazz 4 class this year and getting to perform our self-choreographed senior dance for our classmates and instructors.
Out of all your dances, what are your top 3 favorites?
• Alice — Contemporary 3 & 4
• Speechless — My Solo
• What Lies Beyond — Marley and my duo
Out of all your costumes, which one was your favorite?
I would definitely have to choose my solo costume from this year!
What recital theme was your favorite?
I have loved all of the recital themes, but my favorite would have to be this year’s Disney theme!
What has been your proudest moment at Premier (award, accomplishment, etc.)?
Some of my proudest moments include winning a Platinum trophy for my first competitive solo, “Oceans,” at the Showstoppers National Dance Competition in 2022 and getting to perform in every single recital throughout the years.
Who was the dancer you looked up to most when you were younger?
I have always looked up to our now Assistant Director, Foushee . Her passion for dance has always inspired me. Another dancer I looked up to was Anna Hood because of the beautiful way she expressed emotion through dance.
What would you like to say to your students?
Thank you girls for being such a fun group to teach! I am so proud of how much you have grown as dancers this year. I will never forget how much you made me smile. I love you all so very much, and I’m going to miss you cuties! 🫶🏽
What is the best dance advice you can give our students?
Give every single dance your all! Never take a single moment for granted. Live in and enjoy every moment, soak in every dance, and feel every beat because these moments truly fly by.
