"Soaking it all in" 16x12" acrylic painting.
There's just something about fresh water flowing through a grassy meadow that makes you want to stay there forever and soak it all in. (A fishing pole is handy at those times too.)

Last summer, Dianna and I had the privilege of being in Victoria BC on the most amazing August evening imaginable. It's difficult to describe. The city was fully alive: a bagpiper, double-decker busses, tourists, huge baskets of flowers hanging from rows of globed lampposts. The impressively grand Empress Hotel served as the backdrop to Victoria's Inner Harbour, filled with boats attending the Classic Boat Festival - all bathed in the light of a glorious sunset. In the bustle of it all, was this man rowing his boat to survey the beauty of the restored "Sockeye" and other vessels there. He caught my eye and I just knew the image had to become a painting one day, so here it is!
16x12" Acrylic. On hold until I can part with it (ha!) but I still wanted to share it with you here.

"Seasonal Benefits" 16x12" Acrylic
This is a somewhat hidden spot along the road in the Little Blackfoot River Valley. It's an easy gem to miss while cruising down the highway, as it's in the shade most of the day and tucked around a corner. When the sun does hit it though... WOW... this little pond really sings! For the first 58 years of my life I never would have dreamed I would be an artist - let alone have my work displayed in a fancy bank lobby. Yet, it's happening! The new Stockman Bank in Helena has purchased and hung these two pieces. God is so good!

When painting I often wonder whose eye it will catch and where it will end up. It's always such an honor when anyone deems my work worthy of buying and hanging on their wall. This one, "Light Shed," will soon be in a wonderful couple's home right here in Helena!
