Hey everyone. Thanks for reading our posts and being active in our attempt to give kids a place to go this summer. We are hoping to get everything opened up as soon as possible, but we have a favor to ask of everyone if you or anyone you know has any 2x4s, 2x6s ..plywood... Etc..anything that can be used to build stuff with and have no use for it, we would love to have it. We are going Green and trying to use all recycled stuff and help our environment. Also, if you or anyone you know have any old buildings or houses that you want torn down or anything of that nature, we would be more than happy to accommodate and recycle the materials out of it. The good thing about all this is we are leaving it up to the people that will be playing to build the war area like they want it.. It is for them not us...You come help and you play free....So come one come all and have it the way you want it ...HAVE FUN PLAY HARD.....Your way. Thank you..

The main reason we strive to open Red Needle is to better our community. The children of our community need somewhere to go and just have fun. So many kids have no where to go, and nothing to do, especially during the summer. Meanwhile, boredom and peer pressure tend to set in hence making children and young adults more susceptible to get into trouble, do drugs, and drink alcohol. By giving kids a place to go have fun, we hope to keep kids away from the things that could very well destroy their lives. We also want to incorporate an honor roll program to give kids in school an extra little motivation to stay in school and do their best. Drop out rates seem to keep steadily rising, and attendance in schools has gotten horrible. We are hoping by giving out free days of play or discounts to kids with all As and As &Bs also good attendance, we can help not only Heflin students but all the students of the surrounding areas. We would also like to do outreach programs with the surrounding churches, and have youth days for them and other programs. We plan on doing community cookouts and other things to help us raise money to get Red Needle functioning and running smoothly. We have many hopes for Red Needle, but more so, many hopes for the future of our community and all of its' beautiful children. We will be taking donations at all of our fundraisers, and anyone who has any fund raiser ideas or suggestions on how to get Red Needle operational by Summer please let us know. We welcome any and all feedback. Any help on finding a place would be helpful and the owner of the property would get a percentage of all income...It needs to be around the Heflin area and we would like for it to be 5+ acres with a open place to park and have a booth...also where they would be playing needs to be woods....Thank you and hope to hear back soon..All feedback is welcomed and highly appreciated!

King Of The Hill is a flag game...It is played as follows.. Each team has a flag in hand. Choose a team member to have the flag. There will be a hill and at the top will be a flag pole. Hoist your teams' flag to the top of the pole. The first team to hold the hill with their flag for 5 minutes will win. Sounds easy, but it's far from it. This is an elimination game, once a person is hit they are out until the next round. Once you are hit and you are called out move to the out box or place that a referee tells you to go. So have fun and watch your back...LOL..

One of the things we want to have here is "CTF" Capture The Flag. It is a good team builder and you need high level of team comunication to get the job done. For this game, and most others, we will provide the team with hand raidos so they can work together better. Line of sight is a key in this, keep your eyes on your team at all times and the flag. Rules are easy...1st both teams will start at their own flag. 2nd once the horn sounds you will move to get the other team's flag..3rd Once you find the other team's flag take it and you must take it back to your cap point. 4th cap points will be put away from your own team's flag..5th to win you must hoist the other teams flag up the flag pole on your side at the cap point....That is how CTF is played..Have fun and most important dont get hit. Any person hit in game will have to start back at their flag point. This it to make it harder and more fun in the long fun.

Every month we will hold a "Free For All" game. Everyone is welcome to play it is a play free day. Only thing you will have to pay for is balls, they will be $2 for every 200 rounds but price may be less or free once everything has been up and going good for a while. If you have any more ideas about what we can do just let us know.

When we clean up for the games we will not let anything go to waste. If we cut down trees we will reuse them to make hides, walls, and natural erosion control breaks. Everything we do is to help keep the impact of people down to help the wild life and environment.

This is a good example of using natural wall hides. We will not bring in to much to the place we are believers in using what is around you. This helps the environment and brings a real look to everything we use.

Camo netting is a good tool for moving fast and hiding in plan sight to overtake your opponent to win. Hit and move is your bestfriend in a war game. All the things we use like this will change from day to day so people never know what to expect when they play. It is just another fun thing we do to make it more fun and make it a "think on your feet game".

This is something we think is most important in a realistic war game. Our goal here is to make it as fun as we; can and, I know it sounds like a bad cliche, but most kids watch too many war movies today. So we got to give them what they want. It is also a good thing for people that have been doing this a long time and know how it use it to their advantage. Bunkers and trenches are a good tool in wining the battle.
