CHERRY HARVEST UPDATE 6/8

We have spent the last two days going from tree to tree in the orchard. While we still can't say, for sure, if we will be able to open yet, things are definitely HOPEFUL. Everything weather-wise for the next 3 weeks needs to go perfectly and we might just get there.

Here is our biggest challenge. The cherries in the pic all came from the same tree. The largest was fertilized BEFORE the freeze, the middle two a week or so after that (on the one good weather day we had) and the smallest about 2 weeks ago when the temps finally returned to normal. Hopefully the heat later this week will stay, we won't have any crazy heavy rain storms and the birds all head elsewhere!!!

CHERRY HARVEST UPDATE 6/3

Lots of folks are asking! We are still unsure about harvest. As the freeze in early May wiped out 99% of the blossoms, we have to wait for "June Drop" to happen. Once that takes place we'll be able to determine if we have sufficient crop to open to the public. Please continue to follow us on FB for updates.

Strip steaks, chorizo and veggies for a traditional Swiss cheese fondue!!! (Emmental and Gruyère cheeses with Hazlitt 1852 Sherry and homemade cherry kirsch with lots of garlic). Dinner is going to be delicious.

Steaks are from our Roadside Stand. Thank you Rosenkrans Farm for raising amazing beef.
