❤️ We’re Looking for Volunteers & Community Support!

New Direction Youth Initiative is preparing to launch our 8-week hands-on program for youth ages 13–17 in Licking County, with a focus on at-risk and underserved teens who may need extra support, guidance, positive role models, and exposure to new opportunities.

Our goal is simple: put positive people and real career possibilities in front of these kids and show them there are many different directions their future can take.

Throughout the program, teens will experience skilled trades, healthcare, financial literacy, self-care, independent living, career exploration, positive decision-making, and planning for life after high school.

And we don't want them just sitting and listening — we want them DOING! 🔨🩺🚗💰

We're currently looking for:

🔧 Tradespeople & businesses to lead hands-on activities
🩺 Healthcare professionals & first responders
💼 Business, banking & finance professionals
✂️ Barbers, cosmetologists & self-care professionals
🎓 Colleges, trade schools & apprenticeship programs
❤️ Positive mentors and community members
🧰 Donations to help build our hands-on work stations — tools, building materials, automotive supplies, plumbing/electrical/HVAC materials, medical training equipment, mannequins, life-skills supplies, gift cards and more
🍕 Sponsors for meals and individual program nights

Whether you can give a few hours, supplies, equipment, a monetary donation, or simply connect us with someone who can help, it can make a difference.

Sometimes a young person just needs to meet someone who shows them a path they didn't know was possible.

🌟 Could YOU change a young person's future in just 3 hours? 🌟

New Direction Youth Initiative is looking for passionate community members who are willing to donate just 3 hours of their time to help inspire youth ages 13–17.

Not every child grows up with someone to teach them everyday life skills or expose them to different career opportunities. That's where our community comes in.

We're looking for people who can share their knowledge through fun, hands-on classes such as:

🔨 Skilled Trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction, welding, automotive, etc.)

🍳 Cooking & Nutrition

💰 Budgeting & Financial Literacy

🛠️ Home & Vehicle Maintenance

💼 Career Exploration

🧠 Mental Wellness & Healthy Habits

❤️ Mentoring & Leadership

🏋️ Fitness & Wellness

🎨 Creative Arts & Hobbies
..or any life skill that could help prepare a young person for adulthood.

You don't have to be a teacher—you just have to be willing to share your experience and encourage the next generation.

We are excited to officially introduce New Direction Youth Initiative, a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping youth build confidence, learn valuable life skills, explore future careers, and connect with positive mentors and opportunities within our community.
Our goal is simple: to provide young people with the support, guidance, and experiences they need to build a brighter future. Through mentorship, hands-on learning, career exploration, healthy living, and community connections, we hope to help youth discover their potential and realize what is possible.
As we begin this journey, we need your help!
We are currently looking for:
✅ A space to host weekly youth meetings and programs (churches, community rooms, businesses, or other available spaces)
✅ Volunteers and mentors willing to share their knowledge and experience
✅ Guest speakers and instructors in areas such as:
