Atmospheric Coastal Photography by Alexis Greenberg Photography & Sculptural Figures by Debra Owen

Some moments cannot be held. A dancer's gesture, fog drifting across the coastline, light changing by the second. In Movement & Stillness, artists Alexis Greenberg and Debra Owen each preserve these fleeting experiences through different mediums. Owen's Degas-inspired multimedia dancers embody grace through line and form, while Greenberg's atmospheric coastal photographs evoke a sense of wanderlust, capturing the ever-changing rhythms of the California coast. Together, they celebrate the beauty of the fleeting and the quiet act of paying attention.

Dr. Orin Carpenter ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE at Appellation Healdsburg - named the Number 1 Resort in California and the Continental United States in the Travel + Leisure 2026 World’s Best Awards.

Dr. Carpenter’s new body of work, “Presence,” is rooted in the North Bay where coastal fog rolls in from the Pacific, vineyard hills catch gold light at dusk, and the headlands stand quiet above the water. These are not backdrops. They are living spaces with their own memory, their own rhythm, and their own claim on the people who enter them. Presence in the Landscape is an offering of attention- an invitation to stand still long enough to feel how a place holds you, and to ask what it is asking of you in return.

SPIRIT OF PLACE WORKSHOP
Instructed by Dr. Orin Carpenter, this abstract landscape workshop invites participants to explore expressive mark-making, layered color techniques, and imaginative composition as they reimagine the natural world. Beginning with a hike through the hotel’s nature trail, through a blend of emotion, memory, and intuitive storytelling, guests will use various gathered mixed media materials and learn to translate the spirit of a place into bold, atmospheric forms that carry both personal and visual power.

Art, music, and community come together this Juneteenth on the Healdsburg Plaza! Rena Charles Gallery presents a pop-up curation featuring local BIPOC artists, including Dr. Orin Carpenter, Tiffany Conway Art, WardWorksArt, and Vanessa Montenegro.

Set against a backdrop of Healdsburg Jazz's free live concert, explore paintings, photography, and henna designs by Henna Roots, and then step into our Art Lounge for conversation, creativity, and connection. Free and open to the public.

Join us Saturday, June 13th from 2pm - 8pm on the Healdsburg Plaza. This gathering is part of JUNEIVERSARY, our month-long celebration marking Rena Charles Gallery’s third anniversary. A series of events honoring the artists, collectors, neighbors, and community who make this journey possible.
