To Our Act Up! Studios Family,
After much thought and many prayers, the time has come to say goodbye to Act Up! Studios.
This is, without question, the hardest letter I have ever had to write.
For the past several years, it has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to teach, direct, and watch so many incredible young people grow. Together, we have shared rehearsals, performances, competitions, standing ovations, laughter, happy tears, and countless memories that I will carry with me forever. While our students have learned about acting, singing, dancing, and performing, they have also taught me so much about perseverance, creativity, courage, kindness, and joy.
To every student who ever walked through our doors: thank you. Thank you for trusting me, for working hard, for making me laugh, for taking creative risks, and for reminding me every single day why the performing arts matter. Watching you discover your confidence, find your voice, and become the people you were created to be has been the greatest reward I could have ever imagined.
To every parent and family member: thank you for believing in Act Up! Studios and for trusting me with your children. Thank you for every rehearsal pickup, every competition weekend, every show, every costume, every encouraging word, and every opportunity you gave your child to shine. Your support built this community just as much as anything I ever did, and I will always be grateful for the faith you placed in me.
As many of you know, I will be relocating to Mobile to pursue exciting new opportunities. While this means the doors of Act Up! Studios are closing, I am incredibly grateful for this chapter of my life and excited to see what the future holds.
To my students, I have one final request:
Please don’t stop performing.
Keep singing. Keep acting. Keep dancing. Keep creating.
Find a community theatre, school program, choir, dance studio, or another performing arts program where you can continue to learn, grow, and share your gifts. Whether performing becomes your career or simply remains something you love, I hope you never lose the confidence, creativity, and courage you discovered on stage. The world will always need storytellers, musicians, artists, and dreamers.
Act Up! Studios may be closing its doors, but the music, the laughter, the friendships, the confidence, and the memories created here don’t end today. They live on in every student who found their voice, discovered a passion, stepped onto a stage for the very first time, or realized they belonged because of this little studio. No one can ever take that away.
Thank you for allowing me to spend these years watching you become who you are. Being your teacher has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
Though the lights may go down on this stage, I hope each of you continues to find new stages to stand on, new stories to tell, and new reasons to believe in yourselves. I’ll be cheering you on from wherever life takes me.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for every memory, every laugh, every curtain call, every standing ovation, and every moment we shared together.
Keep dreaming big.
Keep creating.
Keep performing.
With all my love and gratitude,
Miss Abbie
