This Weekend! (May 31 & June 1) One Seating Each Night!
Latin Italian Dinner Party with Chef Natalia 'Boa' Rosario
of Food Network's Ciao House

Schooled in the kitchens of chefs Elena Reygadas (50 best female chefs) of Mexico City’s famed Rosetta and Grant Achatz’s Next (Chicago’s Alinea Group)…
Mark your calendars to meet: Chicago’s Chef Natalia “Boa” Rosario.

Natalia’s uplifting flavors are underpinned by razor sharp fine-dining technique. But make no mistake, the super fun, super tasty crossover creations she’s bringing to Frame, are all her own.

Growing up in Puerto Rico. And moving to Mexico City as a teenager (where she studied culinary arts), Natalia has a knack, so rarely seen, to seamlessly blend flavors from such very different cultures.

With TV stints on Chopped Next Gen and Beat Bobby Flay. Natalia swept the competition on Food Network’s Ciao House, a series shot on-location in Italy, where 10 chefs lived together training with renowned Italian master chefs. Garnering an immersive culinary education across Italy, from real-life nonnas to head butchers of centuries-old family businesses.

Prepare for: ‘Squid Ink Rotolo with Huitlacoche and Mascarpone’; ‘Focaccia with Pressed Pork Chicharron and Nduja’; ‘Asparagus Shaved Artichoke Salad with Xoconostle Cactus and Yuca’; ‘Almond Flan Amaro Chocolate Cake with Hibiscus Tuille and Cinnamon Smoke.’

Just like in the majestic Golden-Age of Bollywood films, Meghana Shrivastava and Matt Daniels met in Bombay, the commercial capital of India.

A swoon-worthy steady love story...with a skillfully planned plot twist ... these culinary masterminds moved to Goa to develop a deeply personal cookery style, all their own. Opening, smash-hit Verandah, now an institution in India’s hottest restaurant scene.

Celebrating the central tenets of Meghana (Indian) and Matt's (Jewish) culinary cultures, this Bollywood love story comes straight from Goa (literally) to the Frame kitchen with an envelope-pushing menu. Adaptive, cleverly calibrated and finely honed. Think 'kohlrabi carpaccio with green apple'; 'pastrami biryani'; 'spicy peanut ‘salan’; 'coconut curry.'

Paired with a swelling soundtrack and a boundary-busting cocktail takeover to boot.
June, we're opening the gates to a handpicked line-up of some of our all-time favorite guest chefs. >> Plus you, of course!

One More Thing...

Detroit Food Academy 'Advanced Youth Dinner'
Led by Chefs Jermond Booze & Le'Genevieve Squires

At Frame, we blossom at the opportunity to cultivate the next generation of culinary leaders.
So when Detroit Food Academy, the 501(c)(3) non-profit that inspires and empowers young Detroiter’s through culinary arts and food entrepreneurship, reached out for us to host their end-of-school fundraiser to support their programs, we literally jumped at the call.

For one special May weekend in Frame’s open kitchen, DFA Advanced Youth students, overseen by facilitator Chefs Jermond Booze (of Taste the Diaspora and Vinyl Tasting) and Le’Genevieve Squires (Relish), will experience the rush of preparing a coursed out Frame experience. Putting into hands-on practice the valuable skills they’ve been honing all year: cooking, marketing, community engagement. As advanced program students, together they designed this imaginative conceptual menu, start to finish with dishes created around three-timely-themes close to their hearts : Cartoons, Pride and Palestine.

Think playful dishes from the likes of: ‘Krabby Patties’, curried lump crab and shrimp Jamaican patties; ‘Lentil meatballs in herbaceous broth; ‘ Banchan’ with halal bulgogi beef, bulgogi eggplant, sticky mushrooms, pickled zucchini, garlicky green beans;’ and ‘Rainbow Nuomici’ filled with strawberry rhubarb chocolate ganache.
Clear your calendars and come mingle with these incredible students and Frame fave, DFA Executive Director – Kiki Louya – as your infectious enthusiasm – will truly make a difference.

Supper, Students, Sipping, Support
This is a Detroit Food Academy Fundraising Dinner Experience.
Anyway You Cut This One, We’re Making a Positive Impact on the Youth and the Future of Our City.

If a Filipino meal ever needed to come with a (don’t-miss-this-one) disclaimer, this is it.
First generation Filipino American, Chef Jonathan Peregrino is pure genius with a calling card to match: Academy of Pastry & Bakery Arts Philippines; Pastry Sous Chef at Detroit’s Book Tower Le Supreme and Hiroki-San; Pastry Chef at Oak and Reel; Pastry Assistant at Warda Patisserie.

Who luckily for us, is bringing his Filipino culture to the Frame tables, just in time to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month.

Gilded with traditional dishes most of us only dream of… ‘Siopao Steamed Buns with Adobo Pork’, ‘Ginisang Sayote Squash’, “Ginitaang Mais’ and ‘ Pan de Sal with Longanisa.’ This Filipino Dinner Party takes the very idea of the all-day dishes Jonathan grew up eating (both of his parents are from the Philippines) to thrilling new extremes.

As a preview to Jonathan’s hotly anticipated JP Makes and Bakes opening this summer in Detroit we’re creating one very bustling May weekend, sharing Michigan’s diverse Asian American entrepreneurs and creatives in the realm of food and drink.

Jonathan’s stop at Frame will be every bit as outrageous, as this menu sounds..

In an emotionally cinematic and evocative portrait of ‘4 seasons, a year in the life’ of artisanal vintners, Canadian documentary filmmaker Maya Gallus genuinely explores the stewards of Ontario’s Niagara Region soil. Maya’s prestigious films have screened at festivals ranging in locales from Toronto to Singapore with Crush: Message in a Bottle, freshly winning the “Sustainability Award” at Spain’s Festival Internacionale De Cinema. One More Thing -- Farrand Hall at Frame!

Chicagoans James Gray and Jacob Hagan, the visionary duo behind Farrand Hall, were never planning to set roots in the unexpected tiny town of Colon, MI ( the St.Joseph County borders Indiana). But when an 1800's private historic grand home came into the picture and the couples interests were piqued : hospitality, art, information science, food; they left city life for greener pastures, metaphorically and literally. The historic estate sits on 12 acres of farmland.

Fast forward, now six years in, James and Jacob have slowly built the Farrand Hall brand, fully invested in building their company around food, lifestyle, country living, and gathering.

Taking a trek from their communal tables to join our culinary caravan of communal tables, we're flattered to welcome Farrand Hall's Chef Donte Shaw to take over our open kitchen and do what we both do best. Celebrate universal human conversation: over a meal.

Honoring the hardworking hands that feed us: mindful meat ranchers, mushroom farmers, cheese-mongers, artisans, vintners...our Frame dining room is rebuilt every morning to create a new experience every night.
And we wouldn't want it any other way.

Frame community...we can't wait for you to meet Farrand Hall whose coming to 'Smoke Stracciatella'; 'Roast Duck from The Catskill Mountains'; "Create Tartare from Complex Vaca Vieja Beef'; and "Craft Chocolate Tres Leche with Caramelized Goat's Milk and Coco Pebbles.'
We're Kindred Spirits.
