Installation for Serenity. A group photography show now on view until June 27th. Gallery hours are Wednesday - Saturday 1-5 or by appointment.

What is the process for installing an art show?
Well, first is selecting the pieces from the open call that flow well together but also show uniqueness in the individual artists.

Next is once all the pieces are at the gallery it’s layout time. Usually over a three day process. We layout the show, let it sit for a day and then come back with fresh eyes to see if anything needs to be moved around.

After that we decide on spacing between pieces, each wall will require different spacing based on what works the best and creates the best flow.

Then, using a laser level we install the hardware first. How we decide on the height is up to each individual gallery usually between 58-62 inches which is eye level for most visitors coming into the space. I hang at 60 inches. Then take half the height of the piece minus the distance from the top of the piece to the top of the tension for the hanging mechanism on the piece and you get the exact point of where to put the nail.

Place the pieces on to their nail and make sure the pieces are straight. Repeat on each wall.

Lastly, take a step back and enjoy the show!

Thank you to all who came out on Saturday for the opening of Serenity! The weather was beautiful and the conversations were fantastic! The show is now open until June 27th.
