We’re looking for your help to spread a little extra warmth and kindness this Thanksgiving!

We’re collecting handmade placemats to be delivered with Thanksgiving meals through Meals on Wheels. Our goal is to have enough placemats so that every recipient receives a brand-new placemat with their holiday meal.

Every placemat donated helps brighten someone’s table and lets them know their community is thinking about them this holiday season.

There are no strict rules—have fun with it! Fall-themed, Thanksgiving-inspired, cheerful colors, or simply something made with love are all welcome.

🧵 Thursday throwback Quilting Iron Fun Fact! 🧵

Did you know the first irons weren't electric at all? Early quilters used heavy cast iron "sad irons" that were heated on wood stoves or open fires. Quilters often kept multiple irons heating at once so they could swap them out as they cooled!

⚡ Electric irons didn't become common in homes until the early 1900s, making pressing seams much faster, safer, and more consistent.

Today, a good iron is still one of a quilter's most important tools. Accurate pressing helps create flatter seams, sharper points, and a more polished finished quilt.
