Hays High School Chamber Singers The Hays High Chamber Singers is the premier choral ensemble at Hays High School.

Selected by competitive audition, this 24-voice choir of sophomores, juniors, and seniors performs at many community and social functions a wide variety of music literature The “Hays High Chamber Singers” has evolved from the 1960s “Hays Hi-Liters,” under director Ron Pflughoft, to the “Hays High Pop Singers” from 1970 to 1998 under director Joe Dolezal. As “Pop Singers” the group met as an extrac

urricular show choir and performed frequently in the community. In 1998, Johnny Matlock became the director, and changed the name to “Hays High Chamber Singers” and the ensemble became part of the curriculum in 2000.
