Using a limited color palette is my go-to strategy if I want to paint fast and keep my setup simple. The different colors are up to your preference. For this painting at a live painting event, I used 5 colors: Titanium White, Ivory Black, Turquoise Deep, Indian Yellow, and Crimson.

I took part in a live painting event and had roughly 3 hours to complete this acrylic painting of two bison enjoying a day at the lake. This was a great experience and I learned a lot from the challenge. I have a Youtube video up detailing my reasons for taking part in this event and the lessons I learned. I've got a new video up on Youtube!

On the 4th of July, I stepped out of my comfort zone and participated in a live painting event. I had a limited amount of time to come up with an idea and create a gameplan for finishing a piece in a short amount of time (roughly 3 hours).

In this video I discuss the thought process behind deciding to join the event and what I learned while showing you the process of the painting as it was being worked on that day. In a pursuit where some projects can take weeks, months, or even years to finish, it was great to experience first-hand how sometimes less is more when it comes to art.

Process for my oil painting, Cold's Conqueror. This artwork went on to win an honorable mention award at a juried art exhibition, marking my first award in the fine arts and a monumental milestone for me as an artist. The full process and longer video can be found on my Youtube channel.
