I am honored to be part the the CCHAC project. The art of storytelling is age old. Family stories weave families together over time and bring those sometime forgotten back to life for children and grandchildren and all of us. People, family, community, history! A FESTIVAL OF FUN on stage! Something for everyone! Old time music and merriment as local folks take the stage to make music and tell tall tales, big fibs and little white lies. Jokes, costumes, pie auction.

Lies and Pies! – 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25th. The World’s Biggest Liar’s Event and a Finger-licking Good Local Pie Contest. Enjoy our big, big liar’s event with whoppers, yarn-spinning, tall tale-telling, and big fib-stretching, where music sets the tone. From the liar’s bench at the hardware store to a possum drop new year, sink your teeth into some home-cooked humor. Add a homemade pie by local cooks as a tasty treat and let the good times roll for an evening for fun!

Talented local performers bringing the stage to life. Entertainers include merry music by the trio Usual Suspects, Turner Guidry and Alan Sirmans, Gnarly Fingers song-songwriter Tom Edwards, instrumentalist Judy Perez; big fibbers and tall tale tellers Delmer Chilton, Mike and Denise Mount, Lee Lyons, Cindy Shore Smith and Sandy Benson. With host Kanute Rarey.

JOIN the fun next Saturday April 25th. Tickets on sale for a rowdy night of laughter, music and stories on stage at the Peacock Performing Arts Center in Hayesville NC. With lots of tall tale, yarn spinning and out right fibbing. Honoring North Carolina Heritage Arts Award winner Brasstown carver Helen Gibson, five-time liars contest winner Tim Ryan. A "festival on stage" reviving the five-year annual festival on the courthouse square created the Clay County Community Revitalization Clay County Communities Revitalization Association.
