Strawberry Lane Studio

Took a break from our studio for today's "Throw-a-thon" at Cecil College, making bowls for a Meals on Wheels benefit. The creativity and positive energy was definitely contagious! A great reminder that pottery is about so much more than clay — it’s about connection, community, and the joy of making something together. Shades of when we first met in the ceramics department at UF.

Creating together at Strawberry Lane Studio- Lynne's pastels, nic's sculptures in progress, and a little garden magic!

Had a cool chat with Gio of WBEL-Air TV News at the Italian Festival last night. Was hoping he'd post the video he took, but will have to settle for these pics. He and nic had great stories to share.

Big News! 🇮🇹
We are SO excited! 🇮🇹 After a three-year wait, Nic got the call last night—his Italian citizenship came through! 🎉 And while we were volunteering at the Italian Maryland Festival, no less! He’s officially a dual citizen! 🇺🇸🇮🇹

The upside of disappointment? A flurry of activity in the studio. 'Like A Sturgeon' now completed and ready to swim off.

After three years of waiting, nic was finally expecting his Italian dual citizenship to come through TODAY.
Instead, yesterday the judge at his assigned courthouse in Catanzaro signed an order postponing ALL citizenship adjudications until sometime in 2027 — no date, no answers, just… wait some more.
Needless to say, nic is more than disappointed. Reminded of words we've heard there ,over and over "piano, piano, domani, domani!" 🇮🇹😂
And so... it's back to the studio to create, where the way is clear, unlike the Italian judicial system!

And so it begins...a quote from some movie. The wood form has been fitted with the lead sheeting. How the bony spine and ridges for the sturgeon will be added, I don't know.... yet.

You may have heard of a Spoonbill Stork, but what about a Spoonbill Turtle? Need to keep nic away from the kitchen drawers!

Beautiful collections of stunning local photography! It's going to be hard to choose one. May be buying one of each!
