This week, we’re learning the Magic Ring!

If you’ve ever started a crochet project with a little hole in the center, the Magic Ring is about to become your best friend!

This technique creates and adjustable center that closes up completely, making it perfect for amigurumi, hats, granny squares, and any project that starts in the round.

It can feel a little tricky at first, but once you’ve got it, you’ll find yourself reaching for this technique again and again!

🎥Welcome to Roots Tiny Desk- your bite-sized knitting lesson, one skill at a time. 🧶

This week, we’re learning how to set up for Magic Loop!

Magic Loop is a technique that lets you knit a small circumferences- like socks, sleeves, and toys- using one long circular needle. The trickiest part? Getting everything set up correctly before you knit that first stitch.

In this quick overview, you’ll learn:
🧶How to divide stitches
🧶How to position your needle and cable
🧶How to join your work in the round

Once you’ve mastered the set-up, you’ll be ready to tackle working in Magic Loop- stay tuned for next week’s Tiny Table for more info!

🎊🧶Congrats to our recent Basics 2 graduates!!

In this class our knitters learn how to knit in the round, knit & purl in the same row, and do an EZ hand-sewn bind off to make a gorgeous spiral cowl!

Our crocheters tackled their first hats, learning slip stitches, half double crochets, crocheting in the round, decreasing and pompoms!

Fantastic job to all and congrats on finished projects!!
