Something exciting has been brewing since last August ✨

We’re honored to share that the Cogswell ArtSpace Project has been featured as a case study in the council’s Adapting Public Buildings for Creative Uses series through their Cultural Facilities Fund program!

This incredible series highlights transformed municipal spaces that have become, or are on their way to, thriving community art centers, sharing interviews, case studies, and behind-the-scenes insights into the step-by-step process of bringing these spaces to life. While Cogswell isn’t open yet, we’re still proud that Cogswell is part of this conversation, and that all we’ve learned throughout the years can hopefully be helpful to others.

We’re deeply grateful for the years of support from Mass Cultural Council and the Cultural Facilities Fund team. Their belief in this project has helped move Cogswell forward in so many meaningful ways, and spending time with CFF Program Director Jay is always a treat.

And as we continue building a fully accessible future for Cogswell, we’re currently matching our current MCC CFF grant to fund the installation of an elevator. Hello all, we’ve been informed of a motor vehicle crash on the corner of S Main and S Prospect St by Cogswell, so we wanted to share this announcement from the Haverhill Police Department in case anyone nearby who follows us saw anything and can help. If you’re wondering, to our knowledge there has been no damage to the Cogswell building, but thank you to those who have expressed concern. If you have any information, please reach out to the Haverhill Police Department.

🎨 CALL FOR MURALISTS 🎨

The City of Haverhill Mayor's Office - Official and Creative Haverhill are bringing more public art to downtown! 15 cement planters in the Haverhill Riverfront Cultural District will be repainted by local artists with original designs, celebrating creativity, community pride, and an even more vibrant downtown.

Thank you to the Greater Haverhill Chamber for selecting Creative Haverhill for this year’s Arts & Culture Award!

We are deeply humbled by this award and want to thank Essex County Community Foundation Creative County the City of Haverhill Mayor's Office - Official and Causeway Development for their partnership in supporting our move to 43 Washington St! Being able to expand how we serve our community through our arts and culture sector has been such a privilege and joy and it’s still just the beginning!

The work we’re doing at 43 Washington Street is just a taste of what we’ll be able to do with and for the community once Cogswell Artspace is open!

The arts are an essential tool in the ecosystem of serving our community and our local economy and we’re grateful for all who value, support, and advocate for the arts and for our local artists! Let’s keep it up, together!

We’re also excited to announce that this effort raised $10,000 for Cogswell!! Amazing!! Only Stephen Janavicus of Flowers by Steve would be so generous as to celebrate his 50 years of business by coordinating yet another fundraiser for Cogswell!
