A few years ago, I was sitting on the beach drinking a Summer Club with friends and joking about how cool it would be to paint a board for one of my favorite drink brands and just send it to them. 🌺

It was one of those little “imagine if…” conversations that you have, laugh about, and then life moves on.

Fast forward three years I reached out to drink.summerclub about collaborating on an event. They told me they’d already seen my boards and loved what I was doing… and not long after, I got to create these two custom boards for their event at Kaimana Beach Hotel hotel. 🥹🌴

Just a little reminder that sometimes the things you casually dream about, joke about with your friends, or think “wouldn’t that be cool one day?” actually do happen.

Four boards. Four stories. One family surf fence.

When Terry reached out about creating a surf fence using boards from her own family, I couldn’t wait to get started. 🌺

Each board had already lived a life — surfed and loved by a different member of their family — and Terry gave me free rein to transform them into something new.

I wanted every piece to feel completely different, while still belonging together. Each design was created with purpose, inspired by Hawaiʻi, the ocean, and the story already held within the board.

Giving old surfboards a second life has always been at the heart of Last Wave Co., but projects like this are extra special. Instead of these boards being tucked away in a garage, they get to become part of the family home — together again, as one big piece of art. 🌊🌴
